Latest News & Events

In recognition of Women’s History Month, we’re highlighting women in leadership across our community. From public officials to nonprofit leaders, their work reflects the power of collaboration in advancing solutions to housing insecurity—like our recent visit with Assemblywoman Aura Dunn at the Our Promise Drop-In Center.

Advocacy

Assemblywoman Aura Dunn visited the Our Promise Drop-In Center as part of her “Donuts with Dunn” series—bringing along a local favorite from Wightman Farms in Morristown. The visit highlighted the impact of our work and the urgent need for more landlord partnerships to expand access to housing.

Conversations like these help move community-driven solutions forward and strengthen the support systems individuals and families rely on.

We’re grateful for her continued support.

Community Partner Spotlights

Members of our team recently attended Impact100 Garden State’s Women in Government panel. As a proud grantee, we’re especially grateful for Impact100’s support of our Advocating for the Voices of Women program, which empowers women who have experienced homelessness to maintain stable housing and continue building toward long-term stability.

Impact100 Garden State is a women-led, volunteer-driven organization of more than 400 members across the state and beyond, coming together to fund high-impact grants for nonprofits like ours. Their model of collective giving reflects the power of women supporting women and driving meaningful, lasting change in our communities.

Moderated by Emmy-nominated Lisa Marie Falbo and featuring Assemblywomen Aura Dunn and Marisa Sweeney, Mayor Mary Jane Canose, and former Mayor Shelley Brindle, the panel brought together leaders who have broken barriers and paved the way for greater representation in government. As some of the first women to serve in these roles in their communities, their stories highlighted the importance of civic engagement, leadership, and using your voice to create change.

We also want to recognize Pastor Osvaldo Jimenez as he retires after more than 30 years of service to First Baptist Church, which serves as the home of our Our Promise Drop-In Center.

Pastor Osvaldo has been a valued partner to Family Promise and a strong supporter of our community. His work—both with his congregation and through the Morris County Jail inmate program—has touched many lives and made a lasting impact. We are grateful for his partnership and wish him all the best in his well-earned retirement!
