Little Free Libraries


Women United have been busy this spring getting Little Free Libraries up across our service area. New library locations are: Flat Iron Park, Gay Park, Orange Park, Valentine Park, East Dubuque Fire Station, Asbury Park, Jefferson Park, Potosi and more! These libraries offer area children the opportunity and access to high quality age appropriate books!

Want to learn more about Women United? Attend our monthly meetings that are held every third Thursday of the month at 4 PM at the United Way Office (215 W. 6th Street, Dubuque, Iowa)

Sprout into Reading Update

Sprout Into Reading is excited and grateful to announce the support from the McDonough Foundation! The McDonough Foundation is supporting Sprout Into Reading by providing $3,000 in funding! 

Sprout Into Reading is a United Way initiative that is lead by Women United. Women United has partnered with numerous agencies to ensure books are provided to children across our 10-county region. 

If you know of a program that serves low income children ages 0-5 and would like to partner with Women United on this imporant initiative, please contact admin@dbqunitedway.org.

Judy Wolf

Judy Wolf worked in many areas of John Deere, with primary focuses in Finance and Supply Management. She has undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Business Administration and a Masters of Business Administration, all from the University of Dubuque. Judy retired as Division Manager for Construction & Forestry Worldwide Service Parts Operations in 2011. Throughout her 38 years at Deere, Judy was active in many community organizations. She and her husband, Ron, have three children and five grandchildren.
Judy currently serves on the Board of Directors for United Way of the Dubuque Area Tri-States, Steeple Square, Catholic Charities, Junior Achievement of the Tri-States, Second Chances, and Mothers Prayers USA. She is also involved with volunteer efforts for Women UNITED, Holy Family Catholic Schools, Audubon Elementary School, 100+ Women Who Care, St. Columbkille Catholic Church, and Hospice of Dubuque. Judy firmly believes in giving back to a community which is a wonderful place in which to live!

Women UNITED Membership

- Charter Women United members have pledged $1,000 as a new contribution or in addition to their annual United Way campaign contribution.

- Visionary Women United members annually pledge $500 to the annual United Way campaign.

- ALL women are welcome to participate in Women United-sponsored volunteer activities.
