Back To School Bash
This year for the Back To School Bash, Women United provided a snack, reading corner, stress stones, de-stress doodling, sensory bottle building and yoga.

Thank you to the volunteers who helped during the event, to Hy-Vee who donated snack food and water, and to Center of I Am who provided stress stones and karate lessons!
Supply Drive for Opening Doors
Opening Doors, a local non-profit that provides emergency and transitional housing to women, alone or with children, was in need of laundry soap, paper towels, dishwasher soap and floor cleaner. Women United partnered with a local women's church group to help supply some immediate needs at Opening Doors. Additionally, a military family that is relocating provided additional hygiene products.

" In response to ongoing operational needs of one of our funded partners, Women United organized a supply drive in late July to assist Opening Doors. A women’s group from Grand View United Methodist Church joined us in efforts to provide many cleaning essentials, as well as personal hygiene items. We are grateful for this united approach to support those in need in our community."-Judy Wolf, Women United.

“Thanks to the Women’s United group for their recent supply drive. Cleaning supplies and laundry soap are so important to ensure we are providing a clean and safe environment for the families we serve at Opening Doors. It truly takes a community and we are thankful to be a part of such a great one!”- Heather LuGrain, Opening Doors Program Director

Thank you to Opening Doors for providing a much needed service in our community and thank you to the local church and family for giving back!
Clothes Closet Drive with
John Deere Dubuque Works
Women United's Community Clothes Closet focuses on supporting men and women in need of access to professional attire for job interviews and for the beginning of their employment. This opportunity leads them on their way to be successful!

John Deere Dubuque Works employees gave back by donating professional clothing to our closet. Women United held a clothing drive from September 24-26th with John Deere Dubuque Works employees. This drive was a huge success producing over two carloads worth of professional clothing for men and women.

Thank you to John Deere Dubuque Works for hosting this drive and helping our local community!
Sprout Into Reading Update
United Way provided a volunteer opportunity for community members to create literacy kits featuring the book "Brown Bear, Brown Bear". Women United's Sprout Into Reading initiative will receive 50 of the 100 kits and will be able to share them with partners that distribute books to low-income area youth. Thank you to United Way of Dubuque Area Tri-States and to the volunteers that created these kits!

Thank you to Alliant Energy Foundation for sponsoring the literacy kits.
