Welcome to HerVOICE Monthly!

April is a season of renewal, and at Women Veterans Ignited, we see that same spirit reflected in the women we serve every day. Growth doesn't always come in big, visible moments. Sometimes it shows up in the quiet wins, like securing stable housing, attending a first support group, asking for help, or simply just showing up again, even when it feels difficult.

Our mission is deeply rooted in meeting women veterans where they are and walking alongside them as they move forward. From essential resources like food support and case management to meaningful connection through our events or the community's, everything we do is designed to create stability, build confidence, and remind each woman that she does not have to navigate life alone.

This month, we have a few events already planned and program cohorts beginning. Whether it's sharing a meal, attending a workshop, or just taking a moment to connect with another woman veteran who understands your journey, these spaces matter. They are where healing happens, where friendships are formed, and where new chapters begin.

If you have been thinking about getting more involved, this is your invitation. Join us at an upcoming event, stop by the pantry, or simply reach out. There is a place for you here.

Thank you for continuing to be part of a community that shows up, supports one another, and grows stronger together.

Your Voice Matters:

At Women Veterans Ignited, growth is not just about expanding programs, it is about staying aligned with the real lives of the women we serve. The most powerful way we do that is by listening.

Every woman veteran’s journey is different. Some are focused on rebuilding, some are maintaining stability, and others are stepping into new goals and opportunities. Wherever you are, your experience holds value, and it helps us understand what is working, what is missing, and where we need to go next.

We are intentional about creating services that reflect real needs across Florida, not assumptions. That is why your feedback matters. It helps us decide where to expand, what resources to strengthen, and how to better support women veterans in every stage of life.

Taking a few minutes to complete the Community Needs and Location Survey is more than just filling out a form. It is a direct way to influence future programs, outreach efforts, and the overall direction of our work.

If you have ever wanted your voice to be part of the bigger picture, this is your opportunity. Share your perspective and help us continue building a community that truly reflects and supports you.

Be Part of the Movement

Women Veterans Ignited is powered by women veterans who choose to show up for one another. But we are more than just programs. We are a network of women choosing to support one another through connection, shared knowledge, and collective strength. What began as a local effort has grown into a statewide community rooted in trust and action.

There are many ways to stay involved:

• Participate in programs and events

• Share resources with another woman veteran

• Volunteer or serve as an ambassador

• Invite someone new into the community

• Simply help spread the word about what we do and who we are

Every connection expands the reach of support and creates new opportunities for someone who may need it.

As we continue building momentum this year, we remain focused on impact, connection, and growth. What we are creating together is strong, intentional, and lasting.

We are grateful you are part of this journey.

With gratitude and determination,

The Women Veterans Ignited Team

Month of the Military Child

April is the Month of the Military Child, a time to recognize the strength, resilience, and adaptability of the children who grow up in military families. From frequent moves to long separations, military-connected children learn early how to navigate change and uncertainty with courage.

At Women Veterans Ignited, we also recognize that the impact of military life does not end with service. For many women veterans, the transition to civilian life includes continuing to support and guide their children through new routines, environments, and challenges. The resilience built during service often carries forward into motherhood, caregiving, and family life after the uniform comes off.

This month, we honor not only the children, but the women veterans who have balanced service and family, both during and beyond their time in the military. Their strength shapes the next generation in powerful ways.
