Carlos Del Junco at Hugh's Room Live
Born in Havana, Cuba, Carlos del Junco is one of the few pioneers of the overblow method in harmonica, bringing musical credibility to what has still been considered by many in the music industry – a fringe folk instrument. The sophisticated sound produced by del Junco is at once sensitive, soulful, and sexy while never forgetting the rawness inherent in blues music. Carlos del Junco will be at Hugh's Room Live next Saturday, December 7th.

How to Win?
Seventh person  to send an email to info@torontobluessociety.com with the subject line "Carlos" will win a pair of tickets. The concert is on Saturday, December 7th at Hugh's Room Live at 8:30pm.
Mission Memphis Double Trouble!
On October 28th, Sandra Bouza and Sean Pinchin won the Toronto Contest of the International Blues Challenge for the Band, and the Solo/Duo Category respectively. For all their upcoming travel and accommodation expenses, they are seeking support from all blues fans through their online fundraising campaign to secure finances. Your contribution will help them secure the funding goal required to head down to the birthplace o f the Blues this January to compete and represent Toronto! Every little bit counts!

Sandra Bouza Band will also have a Memphis Fundraiser Show on Friday, December 13th at the Old Nick Pub ( 123 Danforth Ave. Toronto )

The International Blues Challenge will take place in Memphis between   January 28-February 1, 2020.
Sean Pinchin  is close to his goal of online fundraising campaign!
Sandra Bouza is doing both online fundraising campaign and a fundraiser show!
Congrats to Holger!
Holger Petersen's Natch’l Blues on CKUA in Edmonton is celebrating its 50th Anniversary! There was a special broadcast on Saturday, November 23rd from 3 – 5 pm MT, hosted by Grant Stovel featuring an in-depth interview with Holger himself, plus live music and contributions from many of his friends and colleagues including Amos Garrett, Kat Danser, and Mike McDonald of Jr. Gone Wild. As if that was not enough, he was feted on his 70th birthday and will soon add another trophy to his collection: Folk Alliance International (FAI) has named him a winner at this year's International Folk Music Awards, inducting him into the Folk DJ Hall of Fame, in recognition of Petersen's long career as a roots music radio host.
