Anita Wade of the Frugal Framer The Women's Business Center (WBC) was the go-to when Anita Wade asked the Kansas Small Business Development Center at Johnson County Community College where to go for funding help for her business, The Frugal Framer . Anita desperately needed to pay off the seller-financed loan to the previous owner. The WBC did that and more! By setting her first WBC loan payment to two months after closing, the cash flow of Frugal Framer opened up to the extent that Anita was also able to pay off a predatory business loan with a higher interest rate. Paying off the loan to the previous owner has given her the freedom to update her marketing platform, and remodel her showroom.

AWBC Statement on passage of H.R. 6147 A statement from the Association of Women’s Business Centers (AWBC) Interim CEO Bonnie Nawara on the passage of H.R. 6147, funding legislation for the Women’s Business Center program:   “AWBC is thrilled to see continued investment in women entrepreneurs throughout the country. While there are a great many supporters of the Women’s Business Center program throughout Congress, we are particularly grateful to Representatives Stephanie Murphy (FL-7), Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-8), and Steve Knight (CA-25) who championed this effort. This legislation sets a new record for investment in women business owners at a time when women are starting two out of every three new businesses in America.” Read the entire press release here.   BACKGROUND: The FY2019 Financial Service & General Government Appropriations included in H.R. 6147 funds the Small Business Administration, including the Women’s Business Center program at $19 million.

The Importance of Sleep Now that it’s back to school time getting adequate sleep is more important than ever. Quality sleep will help keep kids focused at school. But sleep isn’t only important for the kids. Adults need good quality sleep as well.   Think you need to sacrifice sleep to be successful?
