To WBC/ECDI, Clients and Community Partners,

On behalf of the Economic and Community Development Institute (ECDI) , we are excited to announce Nicole Liatos as the Director of the Women’s Business Center of Northern Ohio.

Nicole’s responsibilities include implementing new WBC entrepreneurship curriculums and programming, one-on-one coaching, organizing and leading training and workshops, and managing the day-to-day operations. Nicole will cultivate relationships within the community and work to ensure WBC is able to execute on its goals to level the playing field for women entrepreneurs, who still face unique obstacles in the world of business today; by providing the much-needed support system, coaching, and fundamentals that the WBC offers.

“ECDI launched our first Women’s Business Center in 2012, with the aim to provide women entrepreneurs access to ECDIs financing options with the tools and resources to grow strong, sustainable businesses. Today, we have three centers Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati. Team ECDI is excited to promote Nicole to Director of WBC Northern Ohio. Through her involvement with the WBC, Nicole has connected to our mission and the women we serve,” says Inna Kinney, Founder & CEO.

Nicole has worked closely with the WBC for the past two and half years as the Program Manager. As an entrepreneurial-minded individual, Nicole brings a vast knowledge of business strategy. She has worked across a range of industries to deliver programs that aligned with the organization’s strategic vision.

We are excited to welcome Nicole to our leadership team and look forward to her advancement of our mission and vision in Northern Ohio!

Why support WBC's?
Why are centers focused specifically on women important?
Today, women own more than 35% of all businesses and are starting new ventures at four times the rate of men. The most recent data indicates that there are more than 11 million women-owned businesses employing 9 million Americans and generating $1.6 trillion in receipts. Additionally, the WBC program has proven a good investment of taxpayer dollars. For every one federal dollar invested in the program, the WBC program returns $46 to the economy.

Women’s Small Business Month is the perfect time to take a step back and appreciate the amazing advancements women have made in the business world. It takes courage, ambition, and ingenuity to start your own business, and all the women entrepreneurs out there possess these qualities.

Small businesses are the engines that drive America’s growth and women are just beginning to leave their footprint in this sector of the economy. With the continued support of WBCs across the country, their impact will surely grow.
Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance.
The WBC is "funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration."
