The Women’s Fund is excited to offer two opportunities for funding to nonprofit organizations serving women and girls in Outagamie, Calumet, Waupaca, Shawano and northern Winnebago counties. Requests must fit into at least one of the Women’s Fund focus areas of safety, health, and well-being; education; economic security; and leadership.

Women’s Fund Project Grants
Apply Now! Nonprofits with new or existing programs are encouraged to apply. Grants range from $2,500 - $10,000. Preliminary proposals will be accepted through January 4, 2021.

Need is Now Fund
New in 2021! The Need is Now Fund has been created to meet urgent or immediate needs that have been intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic. Projects where a small dollar amount will have great impact or can be leveraged with other funders for greater impact, will be ideal candidates for this fund. Requests will be limited to no more than $500 per application and two requests per calendar year.

Go to womensfundfvr.org, for grant guidelines, eligibility requirements and how to apply.

Year-End Giving
PIECING OUR PUZZLE TOGETHER
Will you help piece together a solution for women and girls this giving season?

As the pandemic has taken a hold of our country, we know what the headlines have confirmed, women are particularly hard hit by job losses, child care responsibilities, increased domestic violence and greater mental health struggles.

As a way to cope with the stress brought about by the pandemic,
many of us have turned to puzzles. Yet the basic needs remain. In fact, they are greater now more than ever. And, we are challenged to meet these growing needs at a time when we connect mostly in virtual space.

One piece of the solution has quickly fallen into place. It's YOU! Without you, the Women's Fund could not fulfill our purpose and our goals would be unattainable.

Please consider making a gift to the Women's Fund. Your contribution will help turn a puzzlement into a promise – of hope, security and a better future. Please don’t wait; the needs grow more critical with each passing day.

OTHER GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
Looking for other ways to include the Women's Fund in your year-end giving plans besides a cash gift?
STOCKS, BONDS OR MUTUAL FUNDS
Giving securities may be appropriate if:
  • You own stocks, bonds or mutual fund shares that you have held at least one year.
  • Those securities have increased significantly in value.
  • Your financial advisor suggests you rebalance your portfolio.

Please be sure to let us know if you plan to make a gift of securities and we will be happy to give you (or your financial advisor) transfer instructions. To ensure your stock gift is completed by the end of the year, we recommend that you initiate the gift by December 11.

IRA Rollovers - As a supporting organization of the Community Foundation, the Women's Fund is UNABLE to receive IRA Charitable Rollovers, per IRS rules and regulations. Please consult your financial advisor for alternative ways you can support the Women's Fund.

DONOR ADVISED FUND
Gifts from donor advised funds (DAF) have become popular vehicles for charitable giving. And giving through your DAF is easy! Simply contact your sponsoring institution to recommend a grant to the Women’s Fund for the Fox Valley Region.
PLANNED GIVING
Consider leaving a legacy when you invest in women and girls through a carefully considered estate gift plan. You may have the capacity to give at a level not possible during your lifetime.

When you become a member of the WillPower Circle, you will be joining a group of generous and forward-thinking donors who support the long-term success of the Women’s Fund.

There are many creative and flexible giving options to benefit you and the Women’s Fund. For instance, the Women’s Fund could be named a beneficiary of your will, trust, life insurance policy or IRA/401K. And, by letting the Women’s Fund know you've made this incredibly meaningful choice, we can celebrate your generosity today for a gift that will benefit women and girls in the future.

Starting Point 2.0/EmpowHER Recruiting Now
Do you know a young woman between the ages of 18 - 35 who could benefit from an empowerment program designed to help with career and financial planning, confidence, employment skills and much more?

The Starting Point 2.0 and EmpowHER workshops are recruiting now for the spring semester beginning in February in both Appleton and Waupaca.

The program has positively impacted the lives of past participants and they highly recommend it to others in similar situations:
“This program was the answer to my calling when I didn’t know where to start or where to turn.”
“It put me at ease knowing that other women were struggling for an answer, just like I am. I’m not the only one in this situation looking for guidance.”
“Starting Point 2.0 showed me the importance of showing my daughter what I can achieve, so that she knows she can achieve whatever she sets her mind to. My life, and hers, has improved so much because of it.”
