11th Annual Women's Circle of Friends Grantmaking Gala | |
We experienced a record turnout at this year's Women's Circle of Friends Grantmaking Gala! With the $50 registration donation going directly into grantmaking, that means more grant dollars for our nonprofits!
Women attending enjoyed a cocktail hour with appetizers, drinks, and good company, followed by a delicious meal from Ky's Kreations.
The Renaissance Festival, Kennard Krusaders, and Hagar's Hope all presented on their organizations. Then, members were given time to vote on their top choice while they heard from last year's recipient and New Castle Band teacher, Rebecca Wand, as she shared how grant funding helped their program and sang a song from this year's marching band show.

|
Congrats to the top grant recipient Hagar's Hope!
Representing Hagar's Hope were (left to right) Nan Polk, Emily Boothe, Deb Shepherd, Jamie Ownes, Beverly Jacobs, Brittney Whitaker and Brooke Slagle
Hagar’s Hope is a transitional home for recovering women or those experiencing life transitions. The home can provide a safe place for women to get back on their feet after being released from prison, leaving an abusive relationship, recovering from a prolonged illness, aging out of foster care, etc.

The Spark of an Unfinished Adventure:
A scholarship born from loss, fueled by a spirit that could not be dimmed
The Hilary Weimer Memorial Fund serves as a testament to the enduring power of a life well-lived. Though her time was short, Hilary continues to inspire future generations to embrace adventure and learn with unwavering passion. As students embark on internships and delve into their chosen fields, they leave their own mark on the world, adding to the ripple effect of positive change that extends far beyond the classroom. This fund is more than just a scholarship; it’s a community of individuals driven by curiosity, resilience, and a love for life, ensuring that Hilary’s legacy continues to illuminate the world forever.

New Castle Main Street received a 2 million dollar PreservINg Grant last year. To receive the grant, the City Council needs to complete a Downtown Development Plan. In order to work on the planning of downtown, we need your input!! We are reaching out to gather your thoughts, ideas, and aspirations for the future of our community.
To help guide our efforts, we have created a short survey to better understand what you envision. Whether it's specific types of businesses, beautification projects, or anything else you'd love to see, we want to hear from you.
Survey Link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DowntownNewCastle
Your feedback will play a critical role in shaping the direction of our downtown. The survey will take only a few minutes of your time, but the impact will last for years to come.

The exhibit will be opened simultaneously as two sister exhibits at Minnetrista Museum & Gardens and the Anderson Museum of Art from November 2, 2024 to January 5, 2025.
A portion of the event's proceeds will benefit Red-tail's work to preserve the beautiful landscapes you love and vital habitats wildlife need.
To learn more about exhibition, prizes, artwork eligibility, and entry procedure, click HERE to view the digital submission site. The deadline for entry is September 30, 2024.
