A Note About Our Newsletter
MeHI, the Mass. eHealth Institute at MassTech, has powered the Massachusetts Digital Health Initiative since its launch in 2016 and have overseen work around EHRs, Health IT, and other technology investments at healthcare institutions statewide since the early 2010s. We’ve managed two separate newsletters over the past seven years, but as technology ecosystems have evolved and more common themes have merged between our separate health technology-focused audiences, we’ve made the decision to merge our MeHI and Mass Digital Health newsletters into a single monthly edition.
We’re excited to introduce this new format, which we hope will offer our subscribers a broad perspective on the digital transformation that’s driving healthcare innovation across the state, and provide new learning and collaboration opportunities across our network.
We thank you for your continued support. If you have questions or comments about this switch, feel free to email us at ehealth@masstech.org.

Women's Health Challenge Launched
On September 26th, MeHI visited the Massachusetts State House to launch the Women’s Health Challenge and highlight the work of the Massachusetts Digital Health Sandbox Network.
The Women’s Health Challenge is focused on finding digital health solutions that address women+ health, as well as inequities, in the areas of mental health, maternal health, reproductive health, menopause, cancer, and cardiovascular health. Challenge finalists will compete for prizes worth $150,000.
Attendees at the event heard a keynote address from Sarah Stanton, Undersecretary of Economic Strategies for the Executive Office of Economic Development (EOED), and heard from a panel discussion on “How Digital Health Can Improve Maternal Health Outcomes” and connected with many of our Sandbox partners and startup companies who have participated in past Sandbox programs.

We spoke with Lynne Becker, founder and CEO, to learn more about the Power of Patients’ story, their solution, and their work with MITRE.
Massachusetts Founders Network
Earlier this month, Lever announced the launch of the Massachusetts Founders Network. Supported by funding from the Innovation Institute at the MassTech Collaborative, MFN offers valuable networking, resources, mentorship, and community for startup founders in Massachusetts. In addition to providing resources like expert advice, discounts on startup software, and rundowns on essentials like non-dilutive funding and AI, MFN builds community by encouraging member networking and highlighting the good work done in regional ecosystems across the state, ensuring that founders can easily find and access resources – including funding – that can help them succeed.
