2024/25 Season Recap

Our Vision

To build a championship U Sports women’s hockey program. We are aware this is a process and accomplishing this means doing the right things, the right way, consistently and together. Providing a champion experience to our members is a priority. This experience will create sustainable results, contribute to our success as graduates, and add value to the game of female hockey.

Winter Term Recap

Winter term, regular season:

  • 3 game win streak to start the half with wins vs Waterloo, Toronto, and Guelph (all USports top 10 ranked teams at the time)
  • Season series win vs Western
  • 3rd shutout of the season with a 1-0 win vs Western
  • Earned points in 7/11 winter term games
  • Finished the winter team with a 6-5 record
  • Finished the season fourth in the OUA West division

Playoffs - Our regular season results saw us in the 4th vs 5th play in game vs the 5th place York Lions. The team had a strong effort in climbing back from a 4-0 deficit, closing the score to 4-3 halfway through the third period. An eventual York empty net goal would see our 2024/25 season come to an end sooner than anticipated.

Thank you to our Lancer Family and fans for your support throughout the 2024/25 season. Stay tuned to GoLancers.ca for information on the 2025/26 season.

Alumni Mentorship Program

Throughout the season our current Lancers had the opportunity to meet with some of our women's hockey alumni to share their experiences during their time as Lancers as well as what they have moved on to do in their lives. These meetings also gave our current Lancers the opportunity to update our alumni mentors on the current season and program.

"The Alumni Mentorship Program has been a great way to connect with the current team and stay up to date with the women's hockey program. Being able to share our individual experiences and see the progress the program has made since my time playing has been an enjoyable and fulfilling experience." -Ashley Maitre, alumni 2016-2022.

Thank you to the alumni that served as alumni mentors for our team this season; Rachel Chantler, Jill Rops, Sloan Kudrinko, Ashley Maitre, Molly Jenkins, Natalie Barrette, Danielle Butler, Candace Kourounis
