Dear Members,

Despite being in the dog days of summer, we are getting energized for a fall full of great programming, fun ways to connect, and a new grants cycle. I want to give our  new  executive director, Patricia Massey Hoke, a huge shout out. Patricia has been on   board for a month and we couldn't be more delighted to have her on the team. Please say hello when you have a chance.

encourage you to  get involved. Attend  our first  Lunch & Learn on September 9 . Socialize at the Members & Friends City Social on September 16. Engage in Social Hour for Social Issues on October 15.   As your board chair, I want to thank you for your partnership in building this community and in empowering our local community with your dollars and dedication.

I look forward to a great year!

Grants Corner
Grants Corner gives all members a monthly update on this year's grant making process.

Grant Season 2019-2020 kicked off on August 21 with our committee social. We welcomed our 70-member team and look forward to a terrific year!

All non-profits interested in applying for a 2020 grant from Women's Impact Fund are invited to complete a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) application beginning September 3 with all forms due September 30, 2019. Applications will be available through our website.

Early fall will find our grant teams exploring critical issues and emerging needs across our five focus areas: arts & culture, education, environment, health and human services. During our month-long discovery process, each team will meet with a local subject matter expert in their respective focus area. This process is a great way to get to know our community and become informed on important issues in our region.

We look forward to keeping all members updated on our progress throughout the year. Thank you again to our terrific members volunteering their efforts on the 2019-2020 Grants Team!
Mission Moment
Mission Moment gives monthly updates on the impact that Women's Impact Fund grants have in our community.

In 2017, WIF made a one-year $60,000 grant
to Supportive Housing Communities (SHC) to provide housing and support services to formerly homeless families. A total of 32 families, with 107 family members, were served by SHC. All families were assessed to determine their specific needs including medical, substance abuse and educational services. In addition, SHC developed individual plans for each family that monitored progress toward their personal goals and provided mental health assistance.
Board of Advisor Luncheon Series Is Back!

With the support of Bank of America Private Bank, the Board of Advisors will host a second year of monthly luncheons for WIF members. Conceived of by Board of Advisor member Sonja Nichols and hosted by WIF member Jennifer Winstel, with Bank of America Private Bank, the luncheons give members an opportunity to interact with members of the Board of Advisors. We are deeply grateful to Sonja, Jennifer and Bank of America Private Bank (formerly US Trust) for its generous support of this very popular series.
