I hope you’re having a great summer. It seems like once we get to 4th of July, the time speeds up and it feels like a sprint till school starts.
My college-age daughter will be coming home this weekend. This is a big deal because she has not been home since January. She studied abroad in Northern Ireland during the second semester, and when she arrived stateside in May, she went straight to work on Belmont’s campus in Nashville.
Because our family of 5 has this rare and precious time together these next 2 weeks, I declared it the Newton Family Spectacular Staycation. I’ve asked my husband and 3 daughters to let me know what special things they’d like us to do as a family, whether those are big things like attending a Braves game or little things like eating watermelon on the deck.
The older my kids get -- I have 1 in college, a rising high school senior and a rising high school freshman. -- I am increasingly aware of the need to be intentional in spending time together as a family.
In these fleeting weeks of summer what would you like to do with the remaining time? When summer is over, what are the things you will look back on and say, “because we did {fill in the blank} summer feels complete.”
As much as I’m trying to stay present in the remaining weeks of summer, I’m also looking forward to upcoming Women’s Ministry events this fall. Check out the info below. It’s my prayer that we will continue to build community with one another and grow together in our faith.
