WOMEN'S MINISTRY SUPPLY DRIVE

Hello Ladies!!

Would you help us Wipe Away Worry for families in need this month by participating in our Everyday Essentials Blessing Drive?

Many families lack basic household items that SNAP (food stamps) do not cover, like toilet paper and wet wipes. This month, we’re partnering with Together for Good, a nonprofit serving families in need. I'm especially thankful for our connection through Jennifer Washington (Pastor Ahmad’s wife), who works with the organization and can personally speak to the difference they are making.

Together for Good connects church volunteers with isolated parents and vulnerable children, providing wrap-around care, like short-term hosting, respite care, parent advocacy, and practical support, to help stabilize families before crises escalate. With child welfare systems stretched thin and fewer foster families available, their work offers a community-based response that keeps children safe and families supported.

First Waco Women's Ministry is launching this drive on Mother’s Day as a practical way to support mothers who are struggling to provide basic needs for their children.

Donations will be collected Sundays, May 10, 17, and 24 in the Powerhouse. Please bring:

  • Toilet paper (packaged sleeves only)
  • Wet wipes

Help us wipe away worry, one essential at a time!

ONLINE SUMMER STUDY

Take a refreshing break in the middle of your day this summer. Lunch Break Bible Study is a 5-week online gathering for women, led by Pastor Blossom, designed to fit into your lunch break no matter how busy your schedule.

Join us Wednesdays, June 17–July 15, for a 45-minute Zoom study as we explore readings from the book of Psalms. No book to purchase, no homework. Just come as you are and encounter God’s Word in a way that speaks to your life.

FIRST WACO WOMEN WORKING

Our First Waco Women put their hearts (and sewing machines!) to work and created over 40 beautiful receiving blankets for the Nurse-Family Partnership with Baylor Scott & White during their Sewing Night. What a sweet way to welcome little ones and support new moms!

If you’d like to be part of future hands-on projects like this, we’d be thrilled to have you join in. Reach out to Pat Mears to get connected and stay in the loop for upcoming opportunities!

FIRST WACO WOMEN LEARNING

A big thank-you to Elaine Embry-Mullins for faithfully leading our Vines of Life study through the book of James. This study has been a rich time of learning and growing as they’ve explored practical faith lived out in everyday life.
