Passion - The Key to Purpose

Happy New Year, Women's Network!  We will be kicking off the new fiscal year by recognizing our new Women's Network Chair, Michele  Batye  and celebrating her passion for this organization.  Along with her introduction, we will also be hearing from Rodney Long, with Ascend Business Strategies, as he presents on "Passion - The Key to Purpose".

What is it that you are passionate about in life? What drives you to get out of bed in the morning? If you could do one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? Once a person identifies their passion they can use it as a springboard to launch into developing the High Achievers Mindset for success!   We hope that you will join us for this exciting event!

Advance registration is appreciated. Online registration is $15 for members and $18 for guests until 11:55 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017.  After the pre-registration deadline, attendees can pay at the door.  Prices will be $18 for members and $21 for guests. We hope to see you there!

Contact Whitney Schieber at (573) 874-1132 before July 17 with any dietary restrictions or if further information is needed.

What Got You Here Won't Get You There
By: Marshall Goldsmith

At the most recent Women's Network Luncheon, the fierce and fabulous women at my table suggested I read the Dream Manager by Matthew Kelly. After devouring it in a weekend, my mind was open to looking at the way we work and our interactions with others in a new way. I was thirsty for more so I did the logical next step and asked Audible for a good follow up read and was instantly intrigued by a cover that said "What Got You Here Won't Get You There". Whoa, Audible really does know me well. Well enough to know that I'm always looking for personal development ideas on taking things in my professional life to the next level anyways, but I'm guessing that describes most of us reading a Women's Network Must Read book review. Read on and let's decode how to... READ MORE
Women's Network Launches New Strategic Plan!

Thanks to a group of extremely dedicated individuals, Women's Network has a new strategic plan!  Inspired by the vision of Erica Pefferman, led by Ann Merrifield and facilitated by Deb Snellen, this diverse team met monthly for a year to identify Women's Network direction for the next 3 to 5 years.

Following are the five goals and strategies:

1.  Invest in Strategic Outreach

a.    Partner purposefully with other groups

b.    Leverage the WN "voice" to advocate for specific policy issues relevant to women and business

c.    Establish (and maintain) a consistent steering committee presence at Chamber Government Affairs committee (possibly current past chair)

2.   Cultivate Empowered Leaders

a.    Provide leadership workshops/retreats, specifically empowering volunteers

b.    "Tap" others to be leaders

c.    Create defined paths to sustainable leadership

d.   Identify and share best practices for committee chairs

3.   Inspire Committee Involvement

a.    Recognize and reward active members

b.    Encourage involvement through personalized stewardship

c.    Educate members on how to maximize their benefits through committee involvement

d.   Advertise committee meeting topics

4.   Deliver Relevant Programming

a.    Conduct needs-based assessment to determine programming needs/wants

b.    Refresh communication platforms

5.   Diversify and Engage Membership

a.    Know our members and identify their levels of engagement

b.    Network with other organizations for the purpose of recruiting members

c.    Encourage mentorship
