Spiff Up Scheduled; Construction Begins

WonderLab will be closed
Sunday August 12, through Thursday August 23, 2018
for annual spiff up, renovation, and construction.
Phase one construction will begin for Science Sprouts Place, the dedicated gallery area for scientists birth through age three and their caregivers. Work includes major renovations to the current bubble room, the future site of Science Sprouts Place. The Science Sprouts Place exhibit area is scheduled to open late 2019. Major funding for Science Sprouts Place provided by: Andrew Bacher, Brabson Foundation,Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County, Duke Energy Foundation, ONB Foundation, WonderLab Board of Directors, and Tichenor Foundation.
You will also see transformation to the second floor, where space formerly occupied by a hot air balloon exhibit will be captured for additional exhibit space.

Staff will also be working hard to improve the museum exhibits, public spaces and offices. Thank you for your patience!
The museum will reopen on Friday August 24th at 9 a.m. with regularly scheduled programming.

Science Night Out: Magnified on Saturday, September 15 from 6-9 p.m.
This elegant and eye-opening evening affair featuring hands-on science fun, cocktails, dinner, silent and live auctions, entertainment, and more at the Monroe Convention Center in Bloomington, Indiana.
Evening includes plated dinner, hands-on science activities, libations wall, silent and live auctions, featured speakers, raffle, and more.
Tickets $100 per person or $740 per table of eight.
Guests must be 21 years of age or older. Proceeds benefit WonderLab’s educational programs, science exhibits, and accessibility initiatives.

Coral are one of the most resilient organisms on the planet. Why? They have a bazillion ways to propagate. They can bud, through pedal laceration, fission and sexual reproduction that follows the lunar cycle! Why does it do this? How are they able to do this? Learn these answers and more at Dive Deeper!
