Saturday, March 11, 2023

Scouts and adult leaders interested in earning their Outdoors Ethics Awareness Award should attend the workshop. They facilitators will be offering two classes. The first class is Outdoor Ethics Orientation. The goal of this course is to introduce the concepts of outdoor ethics to a group of interested volunteers who have limited experience in this area in a fun and engaging manner. It should help youth and adults at all program levels to understand the general principles behind Scouting’s outdoor ethics program. The second course is Outdoor Ethics Guide. This course is designed to provide participants information that they need for Outdoor Ethics, to improve their outdoor behaviors, and to equip them to find the necessary resources for performing their duties.

Troop 985 earn Horsemanship

Merit Badge

Troop 985 worked on the horsemanship merit badge, by going to Monteverde Ranch in Tujunga where the staff worked with the Scouts on knowledge of the horse, saddle, and bridle. Each boy demonstrated how to mount, dismount, and safely maneuver the horse. This was the first time any of the Scouts had ridden a horse truly making this an unforgettable experience.
