Summer is JUST around the corner! School is almost out, and our minds are looking forward to warmer temperatures, staying active and trying new things! NEW Basketball Program!

Woodbury & Southbury P&R  Summer Basketball Clinic and Tournament
July 13th and July 19-21st
7th & 8th Grade Girls
Community House Park, 200 Community House Rd, Southbury
Bring your team and keep the season going through the summer!   
Coach Al Sokaitis, who is a member of 8 Basketball Hall of Fames, has had over 500 victories and brought 3 different teams to the NCAA tournament, will be the coach for this program.
First weekend will be an instructional clinic, times would be allocated either Saturday morning or afternoon, four teams at a time, covering:   Shooting - technique, how to practice, how to create space for your shot.  Team skills:   Offensive and Defensive Transition,  Attacking different defenses and  Team defense, half court and full court
Flag Football Information & Registration
Ages as of 9/01/19
Instructional Division: 5-6 years of age
Division 1: 7-9 years of age
Division 2: 10-13 years of age

The program provides your players a fun and exciting opportunity to engage in non-contact, continuous action while learning lessons in teamwork. The Flag Football program teaches the fundamental skills children will need for future athletic programs while having a great time.  Coaches are needed at all levels, please indicate if you can coach or assist on the registration form.

Join us in Hollow Park for this great class in the outdoors! With Mom and Dad, or a grown up in tow, kids will enjoy hands on play-based learning in nature, while painting with twigs and berries, making mud pies, and even going on a bear hunt! Come dressed for play and ready for fun!

Hobby Quest's Airplane and Magic Camp

Airplane and Magic Camp

AIRPLANE ENGINEERS: Soar through the summer with your own hand made aircraft! You will learn how to build helicopters, gliders and even motorized planes! Children learn fundamental STEM concepts of aviation and valuable skills like following step-by-step instructions, measuring and sand. All materials are included in the fee, and children take home every plane they build!

MAGIC WIZARDS: Learn how to build astounding tricks this summer! You'll make objects disappear, reappear and float in midair. Mystify your audience with your mastery of mind-reading! At the end of the week, you'll perform in a real magic show! Camp is designed to enhance communication and performance skills in a supportive, creative atmosphere. All program materials are included in the fee


CHESS Wizards Camp

Join us this summer for tons of challenging chess lessons, exciting games, and cool prizes! You'll improve your chess skills, meet new friends, and work out your most powerful muscle, your brain!  Camp includes fun team chess games, recess time, snacks, tournaments, and puzzles. Each camper receives a t shirt, trophy and puzzle folder. 


Wicked Cool LEGO Engineering

Our LEGO Engineering program includes STEM-based challenges and free-building. We will build mechanisms that incorporate gears, flywheels, and cams to build amazing contraptions! We'll also build with LEGO's in problem solving challenges. Design a spinning egg beater or create a car to carry LEGO bricks! Full and Half Day camp available.

This basketball camp is designed to develop basketball fundamentals, compete in multiple basketball challenges, play in competitive team competitions and have fun while doing it.  Athletes will get an array of learning opportunities; from whole group, to small group, to one on one.  It will be a great opportunity for all girls to grow as a player, an athlete and a team mate.  The director of the camp will be Nonnewaug Chiefs Girls' Basketball Coach Adam Brutting.

This multi-sport program was developed to give children a positive first step into athletics. The essentials of each sport are taught in a safe, structured environment with lots of encouragement and a focus on fun. All games and activities are designed to allow campers to explore balance, movement, hand/eye coordination and skill development at their own pace.

Our multi-sport camp is designed to introduce young athletes to a variety of different sports in one setting.  Athletes will learn the rules and essentials of each sport through skill-based games and scrimmages.  By the end of the week, your child will walk away with the knowledge of multiple sports along with vital life lessons such as respect, teamwork, and self-discipline.

Boys and girls will learn the fundamentals of swinging, putting and body positioning.  Using the SNAG ®  (Starting New At Golf) system, we have simplified instruction so that young players can make an effective transition onto the golf course.  All equipment provided.
