AUGUST NEWS & INFORMATION
Happy Friday, Woodbury!

As the weather seems to turn to Fall overnight, it's a brisk reminder of how quickly a year can pass. Therefore, we thought we'd marinate a bit in the moment and provide department highlights from the past year:
  • 21 events hosted
  • 11 new programs started
  • In-house basketball program grew to 200 participants
  • In-house summer camp hosted over 400 campers
  • New Christmas tree was planted at North Green
  • Hollow Park Field #5 was renovated
  • Three Rivers Soccer Field had an old pony barn removed & replaced with grass seating area
  • Rec House received exterior renovation
  • Orenaug Park Disc Golf Course received approval for 9-hole addition

As exciting as the last year has been, we sure aren't slowing down anytime soon - we already have more changes moving forward including an additional office staff member and the Hollow Park Master Plan!

We know 22/23 began to show what P&R could be, but wait 23/24 will prove to be so much more!

U.S Military History Timeline

Saturday, August 5, at Hollow Park.
10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
FREE to attend.

From American Revolution and Civil War encampments to displays, vehicles and armaments representing U.S. military actions up until the present day.

Veterans will be on hand to share their stories of service and sacrifice.

Muskets, cannons and even a Gatling gun will be firing.
September 11th Ceremony
We invite everyone to join Woodbury Parks and Recreation, Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department, Town officials, Boy Scouts, American Legion, and various members of the military and community at Hollow Park to commemorate the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001.

The program will include an invocation, a national anthem performance, a flag ceremony, and a benediction. First Selectman Barbara Perkinson will offer a tribute.

Please join us at Hollow Park on Monday, September 11th, at 8:45am.

Instructor Tricia Marino-Brown is offering one-time free introductory classes for her Line Dancing, Cardio Kickboxing and Cardio Sculpt and Tone. You must register, but there is no fee.

Please note: The Woodbury Middle School Tennis Courts are owned and operated by Region 14. Any maintenance issues or lighting requests should be directed to the Region Business Office at 203-263-4330.

The Woodbury Parks and Recreation Department does not have any jurisdiction over these courts. Thank you!
