From the Woodbury Parks and Recreation Department
|
To all of our patrons:
"When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change."
Dr. Wayne Dyer
We are looking ahead at the next few months and we are happy to bring to you and NEW activities calendar for the months of February, March and April! Every day you'll find a suggestion or challenge for that day to help you get through the mundane that often creeps up during the winter months. This calendar was created to provide the Woodbury community an opportunity to have some fun while staying active and building stronger relationships through a healthy lifestyle, both in mind and body. If you are performing activities with toddlers to elderly, please modify and supervise as is necessary. The calendars are posted on our Woodbury Parks and Recreation website. You may also follow our Facebook Page and it will be posted there as well.
The Woodbury Parks and Recreation office is closed to the public, but we are here working and available by email or by phone. Our hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. We are available and happy to assist you by phone, at 203-263-3113 or by email at jmiller@woodburyct.org or sandyv@woodburyct.org
Our website offers great resources to many questions as well. woodburyparksandrec.org should you have questions during our off hours.
A few reminders for you:
If you are walking your dog, it must be on a leash for the safety of everyone, including your dog and other dogs that may not feel comfortable with your dog running towards them. Please be mindful of others, as the parks and walkways are for everyone's enjoyment. Also, please bring a bag to pick up after your dog and throw the bag away in the proper place and do not leave them on the trail. Let's all do our part to keep our parks and open areas safe and clean for everyone to enjoy.
We also ask that if you are having a gathering or go to one of our parks that you dispose of your trash in the responsible manner. We have had several issues with large filled trash bags being placed in our garbage receptacles. If you have had an event or gathering which has caused you to create a bag or more of garbage, please bring it to our Transfer Station, or bring it home to dispose of there. Thank you for your cooperation in this.
Keep on checking on your neighbors, send a friendly note or email, continue helping out and being positive, active citizens of Woodbury!
Thank you for your continued support in keeping Woodbury a clean, happy and beautiful place to live and play! If you have questions regarding this newsletter, please feel free to call
Sincerely,
Woodbury Parks & Recreation

This 6 week program will teach your child fundamentals of self-defense, team work, improved self-confidence and introduce them to the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as popularized by the Gracie Family of Brazil.
We’ve designed our program to teach the core values of Jiu Jitsu as a lifestyle—striving to create a fun and practical approach to not only prepare children to defend themselves so they don’t have to; but as a way to teach respect, self-confidence, teamwork and valuable listening skills they can carry into the classroom and beyond.
