Thank you Foster Parents & Foster Care Professionals!
Today more than 391,000 children and youth are in foster care nationwide. Each May we take a moment to recognize and appreciate the incredible work of foster parents and foster care professionals. Each and every one of you play a vital role in supporting children and youth when they need it the most. We thank you for opening your homes, hearts, families, and careers to supporting our community’s most vulnerable children.

Last week, in recognition of Foster Care Awareness & Appreciation Month we celebrated our incredible foster families and foster care community with a night at the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine. The night was full of fun, festivities, and connection. Thank you to the Children’s Museum for being such gracious hosts.
Meet our Newest Member of Facilities, Woodfords Student, Brison!
Named after Woodfords' Founders, the late Alan & Katrina Rich, Rich Moments celebrate the dedication of our staff to the agency's mission, and the successes, big and small, of the individuals with whom we work.
When a grieving student came to school in need of a positive male role model, he quickly found some unlikely friends while bonding over a vacuum. You see for Brison, vacuuming the school is a treasured reward and a responsibility he takes very seriously. One day when his vacuum needed repairs, Woodfords’ own Maintenance department rushed to answer his call without realizing the idols they’d quickly become in the process. What started out as simply repairing his vacuum has grown into a great friendship and so much more. On difficult days Brison calls upon our maintenance staff for reassurance, encouragement, and guidance. In every way possible the team, made up of Don, Greg, Karl, and Ryan, has and continues to go above and beyond to provide Brison with consistent reliable role models, talking him through his morning routine, encouraging him to come to school, and more. Most recently, the team gifted Brison with a Woodfords issued maintenance t-shirt, honoring him as the teams youngest member in history. This is just one in a sea of stories of the many ways our staff, whether in direct consumer facing roles or not, fulfill Woodfords’ mission, vision, and values through their work each and every day. Thank you to our Maintenance team for your incredible commitment to the individuals we serve!
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
Each year in early May we recognize and celebrate the impact of our educators during Teacher Appreciation Week with a unique line-up of themed days and activities that include gifts, snacks, and opportunities to connect and show appreciation for one another. This year our teachers are enjoying everything from free coffee from Aroma Joes, to “you float our boat” ice cream floats and so much more. Thank you to each and every one of our dedicated educators, you make a daily difference in the lives of our students.
Happy Nurse's Week!

In honor of Nurses Week last week, we want to recognize and shout out the incredible work of our on-staff RN, Stacey Jensen. Stacey is a dedicated member of our Training & Resource Department and does a great job keeping Woodfords staff and consumers safe, healthy, and informed. Thank you Stacey for your unique contributions to our work, happy Nurses Week!
