Woodland Park Center Poised for New Look

Woodland Park Center is being reimagined under new ownership, with plans to transform the Westchase shopping center at 11370-11398 Westheimer into a more vibrant destination for shopping, dining, and gathering.

The new design exterior envisions a dramatic refresh of the property, including updated storefronts and façades, new architectural features, enhanced landscaping, pedestrian connections, and new center signage. New trees and plantings throughout the property will soften what is a largely concrete landscape and bring much-needed greenery to the center and its parking areas.


“Our vision is to transform Woodland Park Center into a vibrant, welcoming destination that people enjoy visiting, spending time in, and returning to,” said Ali Eskan, the center’s new owner. “We want to create a lively atmosphere through a strong mix of quality tenants, thoughtful improvements, and an inviting environment.”


The design plan focuses on improvements throughout the center, including its two primary retail buildings, a two-story building that houses Elite MMA, the Fox Trap restaurant, and the overall landscape. The transformation will also introduce a large-scale mural, adding color and visual interest and helping create a more distinctive sense of place. 

The result will give the established center a more contemporary identity and stronger sense of place. Eskan said Westchase’s own transformation helped drive the investment, pointing to new parks, roadway and landscaping improvements, infrastructure investment and continued activity in the office and residential markets.


“We are also seeing a meaningful shift in the residential sector, with a younger generation increasingly moving into the area,” he said. “We believe this demographic change, combined with the continued investment in the area, signals a strong and growing long-term demand for high-quality retail.”


The reimagining of Woodland Park Center adds another significant private investment to the ongoing transformation of Westchase and promises a fresh new look for one of the area’s established retail centers.

MOLO Provides Montessori Approach to Westchase

For more than a century, Montessori education has taken a different approach to learning: creating an environment where children can explore, make choices and develop independence and confidence.


Families can experience that approach right here in Westchase at MOLO Bilingual Montessori School, 3535 Wilcrest Drive, which combines Montessori education with multilingual learning and an emphasis on movement and development of the whole child.

Developed by Italian physician and educator Dr. Maria Montessori, the method is based on the idea that children are naturally curious and capable learners. Instead of relying primarily on teacher-led instruction, Montessori classrooms encourage children to interact with age-appropriate materials, explore and progress at their own pace. Teachers serve as guides, helping children build skills while fostering independence and concentration.


At MOLO, that philosophy begins in infancy. Classrooms are designed to be calm and orderly, with spaces and materials that encourage safe movement, exploration and learning. As children grow, multi-age classrooms allow students at different developmental stages to learn alongside one another.


Engaged Montessori Leadership in Westchase

MOLO owner Anneka Yang is certified in Early Childhood and Administration by the American Montessori Society (AMS) and has experience teaching and managing Montessori schools. She also emphasizes continued professional development for MOLO educators. In 2026, MOLO participated in the AMS Annual Conference in Washington, D.C., and the AMS Asia Conference in Hangzhou, China, where Yang presented on how movement and physical development can support children’s independence, confidence and coordination.


MOLO Director Jolene Tollett is AMS-certified in Early Childhood, a Texas-certified educator and holds a master’s degree in Education focused on Early Childhood Development and Curriculum. Assistant Director Jing Zhang is certified in Early Childhood through the Association Montessori Internationale and has a background in linguistics and bilingual education. Together, the team advances an educational philosophy focused not simply on what children learn, but how they learn, by doing, exploring and becoming increasingly independent.
