Forest clean up:

Special thanks to Pastor Kroonblawd for organizing a Woodland a cleanup day on Saturday, October 23, relating to the August storm that damaged and took down some trees. The group was able to cut down a number of damaged trees from storm and deposit branches along the east and north side of flat top hill. Nice to see some school families come out with their kids to help out. Everybody did a great job.
A special thanks also goes to Darryl B. for his assistance with cutting down 5 dead trees along the shoreline of pond on Friday October 22 as I started to tackle young buckthorn growing along the rear of woodlands, along the shoreline. We got everything accomplished over these two days in just five hours time!!
Trees don't always go where we wish they would...
Tree #2 of 2 dropped perfectly!
When my brush cutter is fixed, I will cut down the bulk of remaining buckthorn growing along shoreline and either spot treat if weather/temperatures are at least 45 degrees or wait till later next season to spray the low lying florets that grow back from stumps.
