Be 'lighthouses' for others »
Alumnus, diversity champion, bestselling author Steve Pemberton spoke on fortitude, faith, and the power of small kindnesses as part of the Woods College Manresa Experience Fall Lecture on November 19.

His message to those present: believe in your dreams, strive not to be defined by obstacles but to rise above them, look for similarities that unite rather than differences that divide, and work to create opportunities for others.

Alumni Spotlight »
Woods College congratulates WCAS alum and Lynch Leadership Academy board member Antonelli Mejia Cuevas , left, as he has been recognized as one of Boston’s “30 Under 30” Most Influential Young Latino Leaders

A native of the Dominican Republic, Antonelli credits his family for instilling the importance of education in him at an early age. Even though he immigrated to the US without knowing a word of English, he went on to earn his degree from BC and embark on his career as an educator and community coordinator.

In recognition of Antonelli's efforts to empower recent immigrant families through education, Univision selected him as one of three participants in its national campaign " Nuestros Maestros ," a program dedicated to inspiring a new generation of young Latino educational leaders.

Antonelli is also the co-founder of Herramientas Del Saber, a nonprofit that works to promote and cultivate a love for education in his native Dominican Republic. The program serves nearly 500 children, with hopes of breaking generational cycles of poverty through education.

We commend Antonelli for his commitment to enriching the lives of others, and congratulate him on this tremendous accomplishment.
