Sarah Says »
Advice from longtime Woods College administrator Sarah Piepgrass .
Write: Exercise your creative self.

Start gearing up for fall semester now by trying these writing (and life) tips. Spending time writing every day helps you become a better communicator, improves your ability to recall important information, and enhances your creativity. Write in a diary format, and you also have the added benefit of greater self-understanding.

Start every morning by writing “Morning Pages,” a practice devised and described by Julia Cameron in The Artists' Way. To do your own “Morning Pages,” simply sit down and write three pages. Write each and every day. Also, as James Altucher, author of Choose Yourself advises , write down 10 ideas. The point of this exercise is to work your brain and get your creative juices flowing. They can be big ideas or small ones. Everyone, it is said, has at least one million-dollar idea in his or her lifetime. You may just find yours on this list!
