WHO'S DOING WHAT
The trip is:
--Pay as you go**
--Limited to 20 Y’s Men and spouses/significant others
What T&E is doing:
--Planning the itinerary, facilitating the event
--Arranging the guided tours at WHOI and MBL
What you need to do:
--Arrange your own transportation (see "Getting There")
--Book your own lodging (see "Lodging")
GETTING THERE
Transportation will either be by participants driving themselves or by carpooling.
When you RSVP, we’ll ask:
- If you're driving, are you willing to take passengers?
- Do you want to ride with someone else who's driving?
We'll share the results with all participants. You'll form carpools among yourselves.
In the unlikely event there's not enough passenger seats available, you may have to drive yourself or relinquish the trip. We advise that you book a refundable rate for your hotel in the event that carpools are filled before you join one.
DRIVING TIMES
Westport to Fall River - 2:30 hrs.
Westport to New Bedford - 3 hrs.
Westport to Woods Hole - 3:30 hrs. (Falmouth is 3:15 hrs.)
LODGING
You have the option to spend one or two nights in the area:
- Stay Tues. night; return evening of Wed., June 18, arriving Westport ~8:30 pm.
- Stay Tues. and Wed. nights; return the morning of Thurs., June 19, which would allow for additional exploration/dining in the area.
Lodging recommendation:
Inn on the Square in Falmouth. A boutique Cape Cod hotel, it's located in charming central Falmouth with breakfast available on-premises. Restaurants (e.g., for dinner and breakfast) are within walking distance.
Do not delay in booking. There is no YM block of rooms; no special YM rate. As it’s "tourist season,” lodging may sell out quickly. You're free to book lodging anywhere, but we encourage staying at the Inn on the Square to facilitate dining in groups and carpooling.
If Inn on the Square is sold out, try Sands of Time in Woods Hole (https://sandsoftime.com/). However, its location may require driving to restaurants.
SO YOU WANT TO GO,
HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

- Click below to reserve your space. Account for all in your party, e.g. spouse.
- Tell us if you're driving and are willing to carry passengers, or if you need a ride with someone who is driving. Once we have all RSVPs, we'll a) confirm your reservation and b) share carpooling info.
