We know Jesus tells us, “Do not be afraid,” but with everything going on in the world, how is it possible not to be anxious? In this four-week study based on his book, Rev. Hamilton explores the worries and fears most of us experience. We wonder how families and communities can live as peacemakers in troubled times. You can learn to identify fears and discover practical steps for overcoming them…all in the light of Scripture and a faith that promises again and again that we can live with hope.

On Sunday, November 7, 2021, the congregation of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church will celebrate All Saints’ Day as we worship together at 9:30 and 11AM. During the worship services, there will be slides shown remembering the relatives of our members who have died and joined other saints in glory from October 1, 2020 thru September 30, 2021. We want to honor your beloved family member by including them in the names to be projected on the screen during this special service. Please email the pastoral care admin, Maureen Adams, with the name of your family member.

Maybe you've paid to jump in line--amusement parks have speed passes, TSA has pre-check. Is it right to pay to move up the list for a kidney transplant? Could I pay to have easier access to elected officials? Why aren't college admissions auctioned off? These are the questions Harvard professor Michael Sandel discusses in his book What Money Can't Buy. Join Pastor Jacob and others in a new five-week class on Thursdays from October 21 - November 18 at either 10AM or 6PM to discuss morals and money--when they go together and when they don't. The first class will cover the first 42 pages of the book, What Money Can't Buy, and any other thoughts or questions you may have. Email any questions to Pastor Jacob. Register to join the email list.

Woods Church Backpack Buddies program at Annapolis Middle School will be starting in October 2021. Of the 1000 children attending AMS, over 582 are part of the FARMS Program. Government food programs are sending food home Monday through Friday, but there is still a need to assist the neediest of these children with weekend food.
This year we are not allowed to have the traditional program, where we meet the children and give the food out to them, but we will be packing 75 food bags every week and providing gift cards for key holidays and birthdays. These will be passed to the school staff for distribution. A donation of $250 will feed a child every weekend for 10 months! That's just $25 a month.
Questions? Contact Sue Bohlman or Penny/Dick Moore. Sponsor a child by going online here or text "WOODS food" to 73256 to give using your mobile device. This number will never send unsolicited texts to you or dropping a check in the church office made to "Woods Church" with "AMS Backpack" in the memo line.
