A Message from the Head of School
On behalf of the Bright School community, I would like to offer our prayers and condolences to the good people of the Orchard Knob Elementary School community. Sadly, this past week they lost a fourth grade boy in tragic circumstances, and the consequences of this loss will be felt deeply by everyone for a very long time. No school is immune to tragedies like this, and it is so important that communities support one another in these circumstances.

We also need to remember that our children deserve our constant attention, love, and support during times they may find hard to bear. Bullying, family struggles, the loss of a loved one, and issues of acceptance and friendship can weigh more heavily on a child than we might at first perceive. Bright School will always take these matters seriously, and we are ready to join with you in support of your children if you feel you need help in addressing a certain issue. Our school counselor, Rachel Blanton, as well as all of our teachers, administration, and staff stand ready to work together to support children in times of great stress or need.

Thank you,

Where Is Your Child Going After School?
If your normal afternoon plans change, please email your child's teacher the night before or that morning before 8 a.m. Teachers may not have time to check email during the school day. Should your plans change at the last minute, you may contact receptionist Elizabeth Jackson at the main number. However, it is not always possible to get messages to teachers in the afternoon. It is a good practice to tell your child in advance that if pick up plans change, that he or she will be picked up whether they are in car line or Bright Afternoons. Children not picked up in the car line will automatically go to Bright Afternoons after a few minutes of waiting by the concourse.

When driving in the car line, please remember to follow the vehicle in front of you and not pull around to exit sooner. This is for the safety of children and parents.

Basketball season is coming! Teams are full for grades 2-5.

Please fill out this form and return it with payment to the office for ages 5-6 ONLY. Deadline is November 8.

There is a basketball clinic this Saturday for boys and girls grades K-5. All skill levels are welcome. Fill out this form and return it with payment of $50 payable to Coach Roy Pankey. Pre-registration is encouraged, but students may show up on Saturday without registering in advance.
