Watch for Changes in Bright Afternoons Sign-Out Process
Out with the old paper sheets and in with a new electronic sign-out system for Bright Afternoons! Our Bright Afternoons staff is hard at work implementing the first phase of a new online platform called Kinderlime. Later this week, families who pick up children from Bright Afternoons will receive a sheet at the desk that lists all the individuals who they have authorized to pick up their children. Each person on that list will have a PIN code assigned to them that they will use to sign out the child(ren). Testing of this system will begin next week, and we expect full implementation by the time classes resume on January 8. We thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience, but we believe this system will prove to be more efficient and helpful for you and the school.
Visit the Holiday Pop-Up Shop
The Bright 1913 Bookstore is having a special shopping day for students and families tomorrow. Classes will visit the shop during assigned times throughout the day. Children may want to purchase gifts for parents, siblings, teachers and friends. Parents are welcome to shop with their child(ren). Click here to view the schedule.
Bright Family Breakfast Tomorrow
Join us for breakfast tomorrow from 7-7:45 a.m. $3 a person.
What's for breakfast, Mrs. Mary?
Sausage and egg casserole
Potatoes O'Brien
Fruit salad
Yogurt
Holiday bread
Cereal bar
Juice, coffee and hot chocolate station
Lice Season is Ahead
Winter is lice season, so be on the lookout. Check your child for signs of lice at the nape of the neck and behind the ears. Lice are present before your child begins to itch, so be vigilant and check for signs early.
Support a Good Cause Next Monday
The Bright School is offering a parents afternoon out on Monday, December 17, with proceeds benefiting the Forrest Spence Fund. For $20 per child, you will get an afternoon to shop, wrap presents or run errands, while your child enjoys extra time with friends to watch movies, work on crafts and write letters to children in the hospital. This activity lasts from 3-6 p.m., and you may pick up your child anytime from the Centennial Theater. (This is separate from Bright Afternoons.)

The Forrest Spence Fund provides non-medical assistance to families with critically and chronically ill children. This will benefit families with children at Children's Hospital at Erlanger.

To register your child, download this form or look for a form in your child's folder or backpack and turn it in with payment by this Wednesday.
Join Us for Ice Skating on December 18
The Parents' Association has planned a wonderful outing for all students and their families: Ice Skating on Tuesday, December 18, at 3:30 p.m. The cost is $6 per child and $8 per adult, which includes skates and unlimited skating. The PA is providing hot chocolate and water until 4:30 p.m.

Please let us know if you are coming! Return this form to the office with payment by Wednesday, December 12. Even if you have a season pass, please RSVP.

Bright Scene
This year's community service program is built around the theme of friendship, and each grade will have a month to complete a project. Third graders kicked off the program with a project called Plush Pals for Pen Pals in November. They wrote notes to patients at Children's Hospital at Erlanger and picked out a special plush toy for their pen pal and the same one for themselves to remind them of their pen pal. Third graders Kingston Tucker, Catherine Curtis, Nancy Charline Farrell, Molly Boyd, Wyatt Miller and Ari Soss delivered the notes and toys to the hospital.
