Morning and Car Line Reminders
Rise and Shine!
The official start time for school is 8 a.m., but students are strongly encouraged to arrive by 7:45 a.m. to be prepared for the day. Please arrive on time. The morning car line has been very congested around 8 a.m. The best time to arrive is 7:35-7:45 a.m. when the line is shorter.

Bike Policy
If you would like to ride a bicycle to school to drop off or pick up your child, please follow these guidelines for the safety of everyone:
  • wear a helmet
  • arrive before 7:40 a.m. in the morning drop off
  • arrive before 2:55 p.m. and take the first position in the car line in the afternoon
  • follow directional arrows on campus
  • Car drivers: please watch for bikes during carpool and be aware that a bike may be passing you on the left in the afternoon while you are waiting in line so that they may get to the first position so we can get them safely through the process.

Keep Moving
The car line is quickest and most efficient when children are ready to get out when the vehicle stops. Please make sure your child has his or her face covering on, backpack zipped, and clothes and hair fixed and ready so your child can quickly exit the vehicle.

Masks in Car Line
We ask that parents or others dropping off or picking up children please wear face coverings in the car line. Teachers are opening vehicle doors and often talking with the drivers. Protect our teachers by wearing masks.
Parent Conferences are Thursday and Friday
Parent-teacher conferences are this Thursday and Friday. Thursday is a half day with dismissal at 11:30 a.m., and Friday is a full day off. Parents may choose to attend conferences in person or via Zoom. A link for sign ups was included in teacher blasts. All conferences will be with homeroom teachers, including fourth and fifth grades.

Conference Logistics
To reduce the number of people passing each other in the hallways, please follow these ways to enter the building:
  • Grades JPK, PK and Kindergarten use the classroom exterior doors
  • Grades 1-3 use the courtyard doors
  • Grades 4-5 park behind the dining hall and enter side doors, which will be propped open
Everyone wears a face covering, and teachers will take parents' temperatures in the classrooms. Please do not attend in person if you are sick.

Meet Special Area Teachers
All parents are invited to learn more about our special area classes. There are Zoom meetings scheduled with each special area teachers on Thursday and Friday. These meetings are optional but a great way to learn more about your child's experience at Bright. To sign up for a special area meeting, please click here. To view the schedule with clickable links to the Zoom meetings, click here.

No Drop Ins
We are not offering drop-in care as we have in the past. If your child comes with you to your conference, he or she will need to wait outside the classroom.
School Picture Day is Wednesday
Individual school pictures will be taken on Wednesday by Lifetouch. If you have ordered from Lifetouch in the past, you have probably already received an email notification. You may pre-order photos online or with the order form your child brings home. These individual pictures are used in the yearbook. Purchases are not required.
Parents' Association
Happy Cart Volunteers
Please consider helping with the Happy Cart this year! Due to new policies and procedures, the Happy Cart is no longer a room, but an actual cart! Volunteers are needed to not only stock the cart but also to push it around the school to faculty and staff. For those that are new, or haven't signed up for the Happy Cart before, it is a snack and treat area for our amazing faculty and staff. They truly appreciate this small gesture of appreciation and always look forward to a little 'pick me up' from the Happy Cart. A more complete description (as well as item suggestions) is available when you sign up. Signups can be done through the link below; please feel free to text/call/email Missy McKenna with any questions. Thank you in advance for volunteering for the Happy Cart! Click here to volunteer.
