Thanksgiving Break Begins Friday
Thanksgiving Program
The annual Thanksgiving Program, which includes grades PK-5, begins at 10 a.m. in the Centennial Theater. Shuttles will begin running from Stuart Heights Baptist Church at 8:30 a.m. The program will be broadcast live on Facebook. If the theater fills up, the live Facebook feed will be available to view in the library.

For the program, students must wear white shirts with navy uniform bottoms: pants, jumpers, skorts and skirts. Please no shorts.

Early Dismissal and Bright Afternoons
Students dismiss at 11:30 a.m. to begin Thanksgiving break. If your child needs to stay past dismissal, please reserve a spot in Bright Afternoons by Wednesday. Download and return this form to the office.
Thank You for Taking the Survey
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey sent to all parents by the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) last week. If you haven’t responded yet, please do so! Your opinions and perceptions matter a great deal, and we need to hear from you. If you have not received an email asking you to participate, please contact Elizabeth Davis at [email protected] , and we will make sure you have a chance to participate. The survey should only take about eight minutes to complete. The survey closes tomorrow.
Fall Gardening Day
All parents and students are invited to pitch in and get their hands dirty in the Early Childhood Gardens. The annual Fall Gardening Day is Wednesday, November 14, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Drinks and pizza will be served. Please RSVP to Bill Greene at [email protected] by this afternoon.

After School Classes for Spring
Registration for spring after school classes begins after Thanksgiving.

Please visit the Bright Afternoons webpage to view all the class offerings. There are changes from the fall, and new classes have been added.

Registration begins November 26 and ends December 14. Payment to the instructor must be included with the form. Do not turn in forms before November 26. Classes begin the week of January 14.

Look for Report Cards
Report cards will be sent home with your child later this week. Look for them in your child's backpack, book bag or folder.
Box Tops Winner
Braden Hutcherson in second grade is the winner of a Bright blanket from the bookstore for collecting the most Box Tops. Congratulations! Keep collecting for the next deadline this winter.
Community Event: Grateful Gobbler Walk
The 19 th  Annual Grateful Gobbler Walk will take place on Thanksgiving, November 22, at Coolidge Park. The event starts at 8 a.m., and you will be home by 10 a.m. The walk benefits the Maclellan Shelter for Families, which is the only homeless shelter in the greater Chattanooga area that provides a stable environment for families to remain together as they search for permanent housing solutions. The cost is $30 for adults and $15 for ages 12 and under. Bright Scene
Bright Music Days were last Thursday and Friday. All students got a chance to hear and play instruments brought by the Lee University Percussion Ensemble. These fourth graders are playing bucket drums, bass drums, bongos, congas and shakers in a drum circle. Learn more about this event on our website .
