Coach Jan Connell to Retire at End of the Year
For more than 30 years, Jan Connell has worked hard to make PE a fun, meaningful and memorable daily experience for all Bright students. She announced to faculty and staff on Monday that this is her final year at Bright.

Mr. Morgan said: "She has spent many years at Bright School creating one of the most inspirational physical education programs I've ever seen. Not only that, all of us, both children and adults, have been blessed by her wonderful spirit that has permeated all aspects of Bright School. We have all been so fortunate to call her our colleague, friend, and teacher."

Please join us in wishing her the best and thanking her for her many years of service! Who are we? Bright Fit!
PLAN TO ARRIVE EARLY
New Morning Car Line Procedures
Starting tomorrow, we will implement a new sign-in system for JPK and PK, which means we are changing the car lines in the morning drop off. Preschool licensing guidelines require JPK and PK students to be signed in, and we will be using iPads to code in PK families.

JPK
Parents will continue to park and walk in with students in the morning.

PK and Kindergarten
Drop off both PK and kindergarten students in front of the Early Childhood Center building. PK parents will punch in a code on the iPad while remaining in the vehicle. PK students arriving before 7:40 a.m. will still report to the library and be signed in by the teachers there. There is no code needed for kindergarten students.

Grades 1-5
Continue to drop off in front of the concourse. Your vehicle may be stopped in front of the library to allow vehicles from the ECC line to merge and exit. Please be patient.

Families with Both Age Groups
Drop off in front of the ECC. Students in grades 1-5 will walk down the sidewalk and enter the concourse doors. PK students must be signed in and dropped off in front of the ECC.

Car Line Routes
We will have staff directing traffic to help with the flow and allowing vehicles from the ECC building to merge into the concourse car line. We ask you for your cooperation and patience with this new system. Please plan ahead to leave home a few minutes early and be aware of the extra time it may take to drop off while everyone gets accustomed to the new car line.

Family Codes
Codes for JPK and PK families have already been sent home, and another set will be sent home tomorrow. Students who go to Bright Afternoons (all grades) also will be signed out using this system. Parents will pick up the codes at the Bright Afternoons desk.
Follow the blue arrows for grades 1-5. Follow the black arrows for grades PK-K. JPK families park and walk in. Families with both a PK student and older student(s) must drop off in front of the ECC to be able to code in the PK student. The red stop sign indicates vehicles will be merged at this point to allow all to exit past the concourse.
Lost and Found
Parent volunteers will be sorting the lost and found bin. If your child has lost anything, please check the bin located outside Mrs. Sharpe's classroom beside the concourse by January 18. The bin will be cleaned out and everything unclaimed will be donated to the used uniform sale.
Registration Open for Kindermusik
Kindermusik will be offered for the first time at Bright, starting this week. Registration is now open through Girls Preparatory School's Cadek Conservatory of Music. Kindermusik is an interactive class for parents and children ages 1-5. For more information about Kindermusik, visit the website. There is a special class for our PK families on Thursdays at 2 p.m. Share with your friends! These classes are open to the public.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Sign up for conferences for grades JPK-3 will open next week. Please look for a reminder in next week's Woodshop.
