Susan Jones Announces Retirement
Susan Jones, who currently teaches writing through the Kilbride Enrichment Center, is retiring at the end of the year. Ms. Jones has been a member of the faculty since 2002. She taught kindergarten for nine years before concentrating on writing enrichment. Ms. Jones encouraged her students to imagine and create stories and to appreciate and write poetry. She is known for stretching her students by urging them to try things that may be difficult and to be themselves. We will miss you, Ms. Jones!

More information will be coming soon about a reception to honor our retiring faculty this year: Ms. Jones, Coach Connell and Ms. Janie.
Thank You, Bright World!

Parking Information for Track Meets
Today is another track meet with two more to go -- April 23 and 29. Due to these meets, our Bright Afternoons pick-up routine will change. Please reference the photo below for the flow of traffic. When you enter the school parking lot, please have your  green name sign visible on your dashboard  and ready to inform our Bright School parking attendants that you will need to pick up from Bright Afternoons. Proceed to the front of the concourse area to pick up your child. Our Bright Afternoons staff will call for your child and bring the tablet to your car for you to enter your parent code. There will be no parking available on campus during the track meet, so plan to stay in the car as you drive up.
If you are attending the track meet, please park at Stuart Heights Baptist Church and ride the shuttle to campus. Shuttles will begin at 3:45 p.m. Families will be dropped off at the sundial. The gate fees are $3 per adult, $2 per child, or a $10 maximum per family. We ask parents to please supervise children attending the meets as spectators.
Fifth Grade Bake Sale Donut Pre-orders Due Wednesday
The annual fifth grade bake sale is April 25. Students from each grade will have a chance to visit the sale and purchase sweets. The bake sale raises money for the fifth grade gift to the school. If you would like your child to support the sale, send in cash with your child. Most items are 50 cents to a few dollars.

Prior to the sale, students are selling Krispy Kreme donuts for $10 a box. Please use this form to pre-order the donuts, and return it to the office with payment by April 17. Donuts will be delivered on April 25.
Proceeds from the sale go toward the fifth grade's gift to the school that is announced at graduation.
Garden Day is April 24
Our spring gardening day is scheduled for Wednesday, April 24, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. We will offer drinks and pizza for all of our wonderful volunteers! If you would like to make a donation to the gardens, we are in need of tomato, cucumber, and squash seedlings, along with any herbs. If you plan to volunteer during our garden day and/or would like to contribute to our garden with the needed plants, please RSVP to Mr. Greene at  [email protected] by April 23. Thank you!
