Welcome Back!
What an amazing summer this has been! Many of you have already shared tales of your summer adventures with me, and your postcards have been a delight to read. I look forward to hearing about all of your travels, camps, and good times with your families.

The big news, of course, has been the remarkable transformation of our first, second and third grade hallways and classrooms. This first phase of our Building a Bright Future capital campaign will give us just a taste of the wonderful changes yet to come in the next two years. Before we know it, our fourth and fifth grade areas as well as the gym, library, special area classrooms, offices and Kilbride Enrichment Center will all have undergone a similar transformation, providing the best learning spaces for our students and teachers. We are now more than halfway to our $4 million goal! With your continuing financial support, and with the hard work, careful planning, and Bright School can-do attitude, we will make this fabulous dream come true. As the school's head, I have been deeply touched by everyone's unwavering generosity and commitment to give our children the best we have to offer. They deserve no less.

I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone and warmly welcoming our new families. I want to wish you all the best in Bright School's 107th year!

Sincerely,

First Day of School
Everybody starts school on Thursday. We encourage all students to arrive by 7:45 a.m. to get situated in the classrooms and ready to start school. Students may arrive as early as 7:15 a.m. and go to the dining hall for grades 1-5 and the library for grades JPK-K. The bell rings at 7:45 a.m., and early students proceed to the classrooms.

The school day begins at 8 a.m. Students are considered tardy at 8:05 a.m., and parents must come to the main office to sign in their children at this time. Please remember that parents and all visitors need to sign in at the front office when arriving at the school during the day.
Get Involved
Parents' Association-Happy Cart
The Parents' Association organizes volunteers to help stock the Happy Cart rooms for faculty. Parents bring treats, drinks and food for faculty and store them in the room in the main office and behind the front desk in the Early Childhood Center. If you are interested in signing up, please view the information on the Parents' Association website and use the Sign-Up Genius link. For more information, contact Allison Cyrus at [email protected].

Parents' Association-Grade Reps
Grade representatives are parents who help teachers and organize events for grade levels during the school year. If you are interested, you may put your name on a list provided in your child's classroom on Registration Day to be considered. The order of names on the list is not a factor in selection. Questions at this time should be directed to Lauren Boehm at 423-443-7214.
