Return to School on Thursday
We sent an email to all families last week to let you know classes will resume on Thursday, January 7, a delay of two days to allow for health monitoring.

Complete Ascend
Please complete the Ascend online health survey each day this week for your child. There have been technical issues today. Please keep trying to log in throughout the day. Our plans to return to school on Thursday depend on families, faculty and staff doing their parts to monitor their health. If your child has tested positive or is a close contact and currently in quarantine, please note this on Ascend and email Nurse Rachel Gentry at [email protected].

Face Coverings
All students need to have face coverings that are two layers. Make sure your child also has two extra face coverings to keep at school. Bandanas are no longer allowed as face coverings.

Before and After School Activities
All before and after school classes and athletics are suspended until further notice. Bright Afternoons and individual Cadek music lessons will continue.

If you missed the email with more details last week, you may read it here.

Visitors and Appointments
There will be no visitors allowed beyond the front desk and main office area. If your child is late, please sign in at the front desk. If your child's classroom is in the Early Childhood Center Building, receptionist Elizabeth Jackson will let your child's teacher know you have arrived, and you can drop off your child at the ECC front door after you have signed in at the front desk in the main building.

If your child is leaving school early for an appointment, please contact Elizabeth Jackson in advance so she can have your child ready to leave at the appropriate time. Email her at [email protected] or call the main line at 423-267-8546.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 18
There will be no school on Monday, January 18, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Watch for information in next week's Woodshop about how your family can be involved that day through virtual events or community service.
