Thanksgiving Program on November 22
The Thanksgiving program is one of the most well-attended events all year. Grades PK-5 perform in the Centennial Theater, beginning at 10 a.m.

Students wear white polo shirts with navy uniform bottoms (pants with a belt, skirt/skort or jumper) but no shorts.

Theater Seating
Doors to the theater will open at 9 a.m. Due to fire marshal restrictions on seating in the theater, there will be no extra chairs or standing in the back. Once the theater is full, everyone arriving later will be directed to the library for overflow and to view the program via video. Because of the large crowd expected, please be courteous and stay for the entirety of the program, which is expected to end at 11 a.m. School will dismiss at 11:30 a.m.
Parking
If it is not raining, parking will be available on the field, and shuttles will run from Stuart Heights Baptist Church starting at 8 a.m. If it is raining, there will be no parking on the field, and shuttles will start at 7:30 a.m. T here will be parking attendants and traffic officers directing traffic. Once all parking spaces are full, there will be signage directing cars to Stuart Heights.
Shop the Market
That morning, the fourth and fifth graders involved in Shine Bright, a community service club, will sell items on the concourse from 8-9 a.m. and after the program at 11-11:30 a.m. Proceeds will benefit non-profit organizations chosen by the students. If you would like to support the market, please bring cash (small bills would be best) or a check.
Sign Up for Bright Afternoons on the Half Day
If your child will be staying late after the 11:30 a.m. dismissal on November 22, please let us know! Use this form to reserve a spot for your child.
Start Collecting Box Tops
It's Box Tops time -- just in time for the holidays! As you are doing all of your holiday cooking and baking, don't forget to clip or scan to collect Box Tops. This year, we will be doing one big collection with a deadline of February 12.

Box Tops is going to an entirely digital system, but some items still have the traditional clip. More to come in November about the new digital box tops collection system. Clips can still be turned into the office.
Lost and Found
Please claim items in lost and found by this Friday. Items not claimed will be donated to the coat drive or used uniform sale. Please remember to put your child's name on clothing.
The lost and found bin is found in the doorway between the concourse and Mrs. Sharpe's classroom.
Help with Teacher Appreciation
The Parents' Association is looking for volunteers to take classes to lunch on December 5, so the teachers may enjoy the Teacher Appreciation holiday luncheon. If you would like to volunteer, click here to sign up.

Coat Drive
We are collecting gently-used winter coats (child and adult sizes), gloves and scarves for the Maclellan Shelter for Families and other needy families in our area. The drive ends November 19. There will be drop-off boxes in the main lobby and in the Early Childhood Center building. Our fifth graders will help sort the donations.

Grateful Gobbler Walk
The 20th Annual Grateful Gobbler 5K Walk/Run will take place once again on Thanksgiving morning. Walkers will gather at Coolidge Park for festivities before the 8 a.m. start. The event is especially exciting this year as 100% of the proceeds of the walk will benefit the Maclellan Shelter for Families. To register go to the website .

Forrest Spence Fundraiser on December 5
Let your child stay late on December 5 and participate in a holiday community service activity and fundraiser for the Forrest Spence Fund. The suggested donation per child is $20. Students will have snacks, make holiday cards and watch movies. Pick up will be at the main lobby between 5-5:30 p.m. This is a separate activity from Bright Afternoons. If you would like to reserve your child's spot, please fill out this form and return it to the office with your donation (check payable to The Bright School). All proceeds will go toward the Forrest Spence Fund, which provides non-medical assistance to families with critically and chronically ill children.
Table Manners in P.E.
Ask your child about what he or she learned in P.E. this week. First through fifth graders will be learning and practicing etiquette and table manners Wednesday through Friday. Let them practice at home and compliment them.
