Teachers Get Vaccines
Many teachers and staff members received COVID-19 vaccines on Friday through a partnership with Access Family Pharmacy, St. Peter's, St. Nicholas and Belvoir Christian Academy. The second dose will be administered later this month through the same partnership.
Dismissal Reminders
  • If your child is leaving school for an appointment, please contact receptionist Elizabeth Jackson in advance. She will have your child ready to go at the front entrance when you arrive. Her email is [email protected].

  • If your child does not immediately come out when called during the afternoon car line, please pull up to the orange cones past the columns and wait. Pull up to the farthest cone to keep space open for vehicles exiting the car line.
Be a PA Volunteer
Here is your chance to participate in the Parents' Association for the 2021-22 school year. There are many ways for you to contribute your energy, talents and interests.

Download this form that includes all the descriptions of the chairs and committee roles. Return the sign-up form to Kim Brown in the office by 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23. Questions? Contact Kim Brown at [email protected].
T-shirts Are Here
Watch for T-shirts coming home with your child today or tomorrow. These are the t-shirts benefitting the bookstore. Remember, every Friday through the end of the school is Bright School T-shirt Day!
Reduce Plastic and Recycle
Every day, Bright School uses more than 250 plastic bags at lunch. Students in grades 1-5 use the bags to transport their lunches to the classroom. Some of our students have asked how we can reduce the use of this plastic, and we have an option!

Starting now through the end of the school year, students may bring in a reusable bag or or paper bag to use at lunch each day. This will allow them to recycle the bags in your pantry without using a new one. Of course, if they forget, we will always have bags on hand. This is optional, but it is one way our students can have a tangible impact on the environment. Thanks for recycling!
Order Yearbooks in March
March is the month to order your 2020-21 yearbook. These yearbooks will be distributed to families in August. Yearbooks are $35 each. Every student is in the yearbook! Orders may only be placed online through Walsworth.
Click below to order yours now! When you get to the Walsworth page, click on the big yellow box that says 2020-21. In the order information, put your child's current grade. For JPK and PK, select Preschool, and then add the grade (JPK or PK) in the box with the teacher's name. You should receive a confirmation email for your order from [email protected]. If you have any questions, please contact Elizabeth Davis at [email protected].
Read a Million Minutes!
Keep reading! Our students love to read in their classrooms and at home, and many families are sending in their reading minutes, too.
Log Into the New Student Portal
All parents need to create a login for our new portal. Each parent has separate, individual contact information. Please review these steps to log into Blackbaud. If you have any questions, please contact Renee' Kropff at [email protected].
ICYMI: Outside Food Policy
Last week, we detailed the Outside Food Policy, and teachers included it in their weekly blasts. Please remember we are a nut-free school. Limited outside food is allowed for events planned by the teachers and room reps. Our school policies regarding outside food and other items are posted on our website under the heading OUTSIDE FOOD POLICY.

Above all, please contact assistant heads of school Renee' Kropff or Kendra Reasor if you have questions about outside food at school. Their emails are [email protected] and [email protected].

Thank you for your cooperation.
Return Sports Uniforms
If your child played soccer or basketball, please return the uniforms to school. Students may bring them to Elizabeth Jackson's desk in the main lobby. Thank you!
Order Items from the Bookstore
Please use the order form available on the bookstore website. Forms should be sent to school with payment. Orders will be filled and send home on Fridays. The bookstore is not open for in-person shopping. Check Instagram @1913brightbookstore for more items like this new sweatshirt!
