School Reminders
Events
There will be no Open House or Grandparents and Special Friends' Day this year. We originally had these dates listed on our calendar. A special music performance by the students filmed last week will be posted on the website and on social media and linked in Woodshop for all to enjoy.

COVID-19 Protocols
Our face coverings requirement remains in place for the remainder of the school year. Please make sure your child has a mask that fits well and that he or she brings extras to school. If your child tests positive or is exposed to a positive case, please
contact Nurse Rachel at [email protected].

Plans for the Fall
The health and safety of our students, faculty and staff is our highest priority, and we have been very cautious this year in order to remain in school. As planning begins for the next school year, we will continue to monitor all COVID-19 guidelines and use the advice and counsel from the health professionals on our COVID-19 task force. We have not yet made decisions about our COVID-19 protocols such as wearing masks in the fall. All of our current guidelines for wearing masks, social distancing, and completing the Ascend online survey each day will apply to Bright Days, our summer program.

Library Books
Students went home with slips of paper listing the books they have checked out and are now due to be returned to the library. Thanks for your help in locating any books that may still be at home or in backpacks.
Middle School Roundtable Tonight
Parents of students in grades 3-5 are invited to learn more about what to expect in middle school at 5:30 p.m. tonight in the theater (location changed due to weather). The heads of middle schools at Baylor, GPS, and McCallie will discuss child development, academics, and social aspects of life after Bright. Parents may attend in person or you can join via Zoom. The meeting ID is 752 949 6390 and passcode is BeBright.
Book Fair This Week
We know our students love to read, now is a great time to stock up on books for the summer. Books also make great gifts for teachers. Our teachers have created wish lists for their classrooms. Students will attend in person, and parents may send in money or use a gift card. Click here for a schedule.

Parents, grandparents and others may shop online only. Books bought online will be shipped to school and sent home with your child. To view the online store, click here. The school code is L6247.

Second graders continued the Spring of Gratitude for Mr. Morgan last week with an around the world theme. Mrs. Hurlbut's class (pictured above) learned about Germany and presented him with a book about what they learned and a German flag blanket. Mrs. White's class learned about Mexico and gave Mr. Morgan a book of facts about Mexico. Mrs. O'Neal's class learned about Japan and made origami cranes for Mr. Morgan which they presented in a shadow box. Mr. Morgan has taken student groups to all three countries.
