π£ Announcing a new logo and website for the Woodview Learning Centre, our alternative school placement program for students from 4 to 17 years of age that have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. The new logo was designed by Karen Jorritsma of Bolster Design - a former school parent!

Woodview's Halton mental health programs are on the move! We've opened our newest location at 3385 Harvester Road in Burlington where the SBST, YODA, Linking and HIP teams are now based. This will provide much needed room for the staff and the services to families.

The AGM took place on October 3rd at the beautiful Rock Garden at the Royal Botanical Gardens.
Cindy I'Anson, Woodview's Executive Director, recognized Gord Roche in a special announcement for the many years that the Jeff Roche and Hannah Gordon Roche Memorial Golf Tournament supported the Woodview Learning Centre's sponsorship fund. Cindy announced that in gratitude, the school's sponsorship fund would be renamed the
Jeff Roche and Hannah Gordon-Roche Memorial Sponsorship Fund
!
The rest of the evening featured Pop-Up Presentations on the Halton Conquer program, our Ontario Autism Program, and our Youth Engagement initiatives at Woodview.

We were featured on the
front page of the Brantford Expositor on November 7th! Woodview has taken the lead on creating a Youth Wellness Hub in Brantford. The hub is designed as a βone-stop shopβ for youth aged 12 to 25, to be able to walk in and get help for mental health and substance abuse issues, as well as services for physical health, social issues and employment assistance. Thank you to our community partners, the Boys & Girls Club of Brantford, the City of Brantford, and the Brant Health Unit for working on this important initiative!

The Boys and Girls Club of Brantford recently awarded Woodview the Len Ellins Award for 2018! Flora Ennis was presented with the award at the their annual Stakeholders Celebration, a fun event with the theme, 'Superheroes Unite'. Thank you BGC!

100 Men Who Give a Damn -Brantford
group raised $3,950 for Camp Unity last month. Special thanks to Dave Levac for nominating Camp Unity! We're grateful for the support of this specialized summer day camp for kids and youth that have Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.

On November 7th, the
Brant Business Builders presented a donation cheque in the amount of $14,821.19 for Camp Unity, a specialized summer day camp for kids & youth with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). The monies were raised at their spring charity golf tournament. Woodview is grateful for the loyal and generous support of the Brant Business Builders who help make this essential program possible!

On October 4th,
Joe Dog's Gasbar Grill
in downtown Burlington, presented a donation cheque in the amount of $435! Thank you to the restaurant's staff and patrons for choosing us during the bar's monthly 50/50 draw! This was perfect news going into the Thanksgiving long weekend.

On July 13th, Vic Linka and Jim Boyd of the
Harbourtown Sound, Ontario's premier
men's a cappella performing chorus, dropped by to present Woodview with a $500 donation raised at their recent fundraising drive. It was music to our ears!

On July 5th, Gord Roche, organizer of the
Jeff Roche & Hannah-Gordon Roche Memorial Golf Tournament, presented Cindy I'Anson, Woodview's Executive Director, with a cheque for $14,000! This generous donation was raised at the 9th (and final) tournament on June 2nd. It will benefit the Woodview Learning Centre, an alternative school placement for kids with ASD. Heartfelt thanks to Gord Roche and to all who contributed to the success of this charity tournament throughout the years! At the recent AGM, it was announced that in gratitude, the school's sponsorship fund would be renamed the
Jeff Roche and Hannah Gordon-Roche Memorial Sponsorship Fund!
