The yin/yang symbol illustrates that life is experienced as the interaction of complementary forces. We must know darkness in order to know light. We must know sadness in order to know happiness. Winter/summer. Cold/hot. Death/life. Particle/wave. Form/formless. Duality is woven into our universe.
When we accept duality (allowing space for all possibilities, opinions, and perceptions), we broaden our perspective, like an all-encompassing panoramic view, and access non-duality—the oneness also woven into our universe and ourselves.
I will love the light for it shows me the way,
yet I will endure the darkness for it shows me the stars.
