Construction scheduled to begin this spring.

Pembrook Sewer & Water Extension

Construction scheduled to begin in early 2025. This project will add new sewer and water main in the subdivision and provide services to residences on septic systems and private wells. Learn more about ARPA-funded projects.

Construction scheduled to be completed in spring.

Huntsmoor Drive Water Rehabilitation

Replacing and rehabilitating existing water main on Huntsmoor Drive. Construction scheduled to be completed in June.

Traffic Calming & Safety

Public Works installs speed bumps, sidewalks and other measures to slow traffic and improve safety for all road users.

PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENT: Parham & Fargo Roads

Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2025. This project will relocate and replace the existing traffic signal pole on the northwest corner of the intersection and improve the accessibility ramps.

PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENT: Ridgefield Parkway & Cambridge Drive

Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2025. This project will update the intersection’s pedestrian ramps to be ADA-compliant.

PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENT: Patterson Avenue

Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2025. This project will add pedestrian signals to Patterson’s intersection with Horsepen Road.

SIDEWALK: S. Mooreland Road

Construction scheduled to begin in early 2025. A sidewalk will be constructed between Alendale Road and Brieryle Road.

Report on findings from water outage due Tuesday 

  

Following a water outage that affected service in parts of Henrico County for several days in early January, Henrico hired two firms to conduct a review of the county’s water infrastructure and communications during the crisis. The firms are scheduled to present their findings to the Board of Supervisors during a 3 p.m. work session Tuesday, Feb. 11.


The presentation will be livestreamed on the Henrico County website.


The reports and other information will be available through Henrico's website and social media accounts.

The American Public Works Association’s Mid-Atlantic Chapter has recognized Henrico’s departments of Public Works and Public Utilities in its 2025 Chapter Awards. Congratulations to all who were recognized or worked on the winning projects!

Keep Henrico Beautiful beginning 2025 Land Lover series, awards

  

The 2025 Land Lover series, hosted by Keep Henrico Beautiful, will kick off this month and continue throughout the year at locations of the Henrico County Public Library. The first event will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Tuckahoe Area Library. A local composting company will explain how to use kitchen and yard waste to improve soil conditions in a garden. Visit the Henrico County Public Library’s event calendar for more information. 

  

In addition, KHB is accepting applications for the Land Lover and Clean Business Awards. These awards recognize residents and business owners who practice sustainability and best practices for their yards and properties. Applications are open through April. Take a look at last year’s winners!

Livestream of Henrico’s reservoir now available

  

Residents are now able to visit the Virgil R. Hazelett Reservoir at Cobbs Creek virtually at any time via a livestream. 

 

Set up near the dam tower, a camera allows viewers to watch as the reservoir fills and eventually releases water back into the James River to supplement flows. Viewers might even catch a glimpse of wildlife. Listen to the rushing water and the chirping birds any day, any time!

Leaf services ending for the season

  

Leaf pickup season is slowly winding down in Henrico.  

 

Residents still have a few weeks left for the $30 vacuum leaf service. Really Clean Streets will continue to take vacuum leaf service orders until midnight on Friday, Feb. 28 for pickup the following week.
