Words of
Encouragement & Hope

….and it came to pass!

Have you ever noticed how time flies when you are having a good time? A
long-awaited two week vacation in an ideal place, a visit with a very special person, or experiencing a ‘dream come true’? Whatever it might be, it comes and is gone in a perceived moment.

It is just the opposite when things are not going our way. When I was growing up and I would be upset or angry, my mother would always tell me that the Bible tells us that things come to pass, to which she would often add that ‘they don’t come to stay.’

I remember when I had the measles, crying that those red spots would be there forever and that my playing days were over, or when there would be a disagreement in the family, I thought our days as a family would never be happy again. But, guess what? In a few days, those red spots began to fade, and I gradually began to come out of the darkened room to play again. The arguments and hard feelings were patched up and the family was still together. The hard times came, but they didn’t stay.  Although it could feel like
it at times!
So how do we get through a tough time that invades our lives and our routines, turning our lives upside down? Like a virus that holds the world hostage?  What or who is the constant in the ebb and flow of your life?  Well, of course you are since it’s your life, but it helps to have a partner, someone you can count on to walk the journey with you.

“Cast your cares upon the Lord and He will sustain you.”  [Ps 55: 22a]
“The Lord is near to all who call on Him.”  [Ps 145: 18a]
“The Lord is good, a refuge in time of trouble.”  [Nahum 1: 7]
“…behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”  [Matt 28: 20]
“He hath said, I will never leave you nor forsake you.”  [Heb 13: 5]

Have you a friend more true and faithful than Christ? What better guarantee
or traveling companion could we have?  He has promised to see us through whatever it is.  Tomorrow is a new day, with new solutions, problems and/or adventures.  Before you know it, each day is followed by tomorrow bringing opportunity for things to change. Tomorrow is then followed by the next day and before you know it, your days and tomorrows have added up and become a life. Each day is the only day we have, whether we like the way it is going or not.

With Christ leading us, guiding us, and walking with us, each and every adventure.  Before you know it, each day is followed by tomorrow………….eventually.

Blessings,
Willi Wheeler
