Words of
Encouragement & Hope
Submitted by Audrey Catlin

I write “In God We Trust” on the back flap of every envelope I mail out. Our daughter gave me the idea several years ago, and I have been writing it ever since. This includes birthdays, anniversaries, get well, Christmas, Easter and other special holiday greetings, thank you notes, billings and miscellaneous mailings.

I am not a computer person and I use the U.S. Postal Service for most everything. Dick has and uses his computer frequently, but I just never got into it that much. You may call me “old-fashioned” if you like, but
I love writing and receiving personal handwritten mail. Mostly, I love writing “In God We Trust” on the envelope in honor of our beloved God (Trinity) and also our wonderful country.

Just imagine how many people handle, receive and read these beautiful words and most people don’t even pay attention to the coins and dollars we spend – each piece contains these very words.

Some people have suggested I use a stamp, rather than handwriting
it hundreds of times over the years. But as long as my hands allow
me to write, I will because this way is very personal to me and comes from my heart.

Perhaps you, too, would like to start writing this message on any mail you send out. It really does become a meaningful habit with so much purpose – a way of reaching out to others to share our love of God and country.

May God always bless each and every one of you, and please stay safe during these trying times.
