I don’t know about you, but I am looking forward to the St. Michael’s Day Parade this Sunday. I will be out on the side of the road blessing you all with Holy Water. For those unable to come, the Parade will be captured on film.

There has been a furry of internal communication about what is happening this Sunday. To me, it seems that there is a buzz in the air about this year’s upcoming celebration of St. Michael.

It is important to celebrate, even in the midst of a global pandemic. In these moments we are able to give thanks to God. Our collective celebration, this Sunday for St. Michael, is a reminder of the Hope and Joy that we find in Jesus.

In the midst of the smell of fried chicken and the sound of bagpipes will be a reminder of the work that Christ calls us to as his disciples.

Jesus said “for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.” Matthew 25:36-37.

There will be opportunities to learn about the ministries of CSMSG and to donate goods to the Last Days Apostolic Church, please generously give to those in need. These ministries are sharing the Hope and Joy that we find in Jesus.

In my prayers I continue to give thanks for your stewardship of God’s gifts and for your generosity that enables God’s work here at The Church of St. Michael & St. George.
