London is now under ‘Tier 2’ restrictions - which is alert level HIGH (Information courtesy of the Mayor of London)
This means:
  1. Londoners will be banned from mixing with other households indoors. This includes in homes, pubs and restaurants. When outdoors, Londoners must not socialise in a group larger than 6 people.
  2. Single person households can continue to form a bubble with another household.
  3. New rules for exercising. Exercise classes can continue outdoors, but indoor classes will only be permitted if it’s possible to avoid mixing with people outside your household.
  4. Londoners should aim to reduce the number of journeys they take. If you need to use public transport, do so on off-peak times and wear a face covering for the entire journey.
  5. Businesses and venues can continue to operate, in a COVID-secure manner, other than those that remain closed in law.
  6. Pubs, restaurants and other hospitality venues will still close at 10pm. Customers will still need to wear a face covering at all times, apart from when seated to eat or drink, and staff will need to wear a face covering at all times.
HMRC advice

If you’ve asked your employees to work from home, and you’ve not reimbursed them already, your employees may be entitled to claim tax relief on additional household expenses they’ve incurred, such as heating and lighting.

From 6 April 2020, this tax relief is based on £6 per week or £26 per month (£4 per week, or £18 per month before 6 April 2020).

Making a claim is easy, tell your employees to go to GOV.UK and search 'claim tax relief for your job expenses'.

It’s quick and secure, and those who are eligible will receive their full entitlement by an adjustment to their tax code.
The government recently announced the Job Support Scheme (JSS) to protect jobs where businesses remain open but are facing lower demand over the winter months due to COVID-19. For more details please click here.
The deadline for West London Business Awards 2021 nominations is fast approaching! Entering the awards is free, though shortlisted candidates will be asked to purchase a ticket.

Fuller’s launches range of new marketing initiatives to drive trade

From Python-esque overnight promotions to free pints and financial incentives – there are lots of good reasons to visit a Fuller’s venue this Autumn
In the worlds of the Marketing Director, Jane Jones: “Whatever else is going on, it’s so important that we continue to make our pubs warm, safe and welcoming and that we give our customers as many reasons to visit as possible. We know our customers are missing their local pub – and the local pub is missing them too – so we’ve put together a package of promotions and treats to inspire and engage with both existing and potential customers.
“Fuller’s pubs have always aimed to surprise and delight – and we have the protocols and procedures in place to keep our customers and our teams safe and we are always delighted to see new faces and old favourites. I’m sure that most people don’t need an additional reason to want to go to the pub – but the nights are getting longer, the weather is getting colder, and we wanted to make our customers lives that bit brighter and warmer. We hope to see you all soon.”
