Business support for our BAME businesses webinar, as part of Black History Month - 29th October - 10:00am for 60 minutes

We are really pleased to be working with the Equality and Human Rights team at Hounslow Council, to help raise awareness of what government help is out there for our BAME businesses. BAME businesses face many unique issues – language barrier and poor knowledge of navigating for employment opportunities and bureaucracies are to name but a few.

COVID-19 has had a disproportionate effect on the BAME community, with many residents working in ‘at-risk’ jobs.

The aim of this webinar is to contribute towards recovery for our BAME communities by highlighting the various challenges BAME businesses have faced and continue to face, and offering advice and information on grants and loans to create business resilience as we move towards business recovery.

We are proud to announce that Sir Kenneth Olisa, OBE is able to be part of our panel. Sir Kenneth is the first black Lord Lieutenant of Greater London. This is one webinar you should not miss.

Panellists include:
  • Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE - Lord Lieutenant of Greater London.
  • Seema Malhotra - MP for Feltham & Heston
  • Beyant Ryatt - Hounslow Council, Commercial Manager, Procurement and Contracts Team
  • Carol Sam - Ealing Council, Business Growth & Inward Investment Manager
  • Nauzar Manekshaw - MD, Branduin Business Support

"I am so pleased you are holding this seminar, well done. This is a great subject to cover." - Cllr Hanif Khan, Hanworth Park Ward

Hounslow’s Recovery Plan Backs Business

Cabinet last approved the Council’s bold and far-reaching Recovery Plan to support the borough through the major economic and social challenges through the months ahead. Called “One Hounslow, Forward Together”, it brings together four months of work with leading Councillors, Council officers and a range of organisations, businesses, voluntary and community groups, academics and residents.

The Plan sets out the major interventions the Council is undertaking and in the world of business these include a new Economic Recovery and Regeneration Strategy and the development of innovation districts to create and attract new high-quality jobs.
