A Message from Kelly O'Neill, Director of Public Health

"COVID-19 positive cases numbers continue to rise in Hounslow, and now stand at around 180 per 100,000 population. It is clearer by the day that we must all step up our efforts to follow the rules and to control the virus.
"It is a particular worry that we are seeing the numbers rising among our more vulnerable, especially the elderly. This half term it is critical that we all stick to the rules. Let's not risk the lives of our loved ones."

LHA London launches consultation on plans for the redevelopment of the former Rosemount Hotel
LHA has started a public consultation on proposals for the redevelopment of the former Rosemount Hotel in Hounslow Town Centre. They are sharing the plans in a virtual exhibition ahead of submitting a planning application this Autumn. Given government advice around social distancing and the team’s commitment to community wellbeing, this consultation will not include a public event and will instead take place ‘at-a-distance. The team are using a range of tools, including a project website: www.rosemountconsultation.co.uk.

LHA London, formerly The London Hostels Association has acquired the freehold of the former Rosemount Hotel at 61-63 Staines Road in August 2019 which was constructed in the 1960s. LHA has a strong track record of providing good quality, well-managed and affordable temporary living accommodation in London for over 70 years.

LHA’s plans are to demolish the existing building and construct a purpose-built development providing affordable living accommodation tailored to meet local needs. The proposals offer a range of internal and external communal spaces for residents to enjoy. There will also be a ground floor café and workspace that will be open to the public.

Further details about the proposals can be found on the consultation website at www.rosemountconsultation.co.uk which includes virtual exhibition boards that outline the plans for the redevelopment of the former Rosemount Hotel site and a feedback section where people are able to provide their comments on the proposals. The opportunity to provide feedback is running until Tuesday, 3rd November. The team is keen to hear from local businesses in Hounslow and find out their views on the proposals.

To get in touch with the project team you can send an email to [email protected] or call them on 0203 900 3676
