Happy New Year, Work Systems Division Colleagues
We hope you all had a safe and eventful Holiday Season. With the start of 2024, we wanted to provide you with a few updates:
First, some sad news
The Work Systems Division (and the entire ISE Profession) lost a caring and trusted colleague over the Holidays. Dr Miguel Gonzales passed away on December 27 after a short illness. He was only 63.

A lifelong educator, Miguel was most recently the first Hispanic dean to lead the College of Science and Engineering at The University of Houston Clear Lake. Miguel also held the role of Work Systems Division President multiple times and was instrumental in our journey to evolve Work Systems from it’s traditional roots to the modernized environment we experience today. While we mourn the loss, we also celebrate the positive impact Miguel had on our profession. He will be greatly missed.
