Hello Work-Based Learning Division Members!

What a great school year it has been so far! I love hearing about the experiences my students are having in their WBL experiences, and I love learning about all the great work you are doing for your students. Please keep sharing your stories with me.

There are so many great things happening with the WBL Division that we are going to start sending out an email at the beginning of every month to make sure you are “in the know.”

Here’s what’s happening with the ACTE WBL Division in October:

October 11 @ 3:30 pm ET – WBL Division Mentoring session on “Meaningful Student Reflections”
October 16 – Deadline to submit a presentation proposal for the ACTE WBL Conferenc e
October 26 @ 3 pm ET – WBL Webinar: “Navigating Issues of WBL Safety & Insurance”

ACTE CareerTech VISION is quickly approaching and there are a lot of sessions related to work-based learning. Register today to join us in Phoenix!

The WBL Division Business Meeting will be held virtually on Nov. 20 at 4:00 p.m. ET. Register here by Nov. 10 to give ACTE time to check membership of attendees.

Reminder that to vote in the ACTE Elections in December, you must be a member of ACTE by Nov. 1.

As part of our broader efforts to address the CTE teacher pipeline, ACTE will launch a New CTE Teacher Symposium at this year’s CareerTech VISION, Nov. 29–Dec. 2 in Phoenix, Arizona. ACTE invites CTE educators in their first year of teaching to apply to participate in this event and related activities throughout the rest of the school year. Student Video Challenge

New Student Video Contest

ACTE — the host of CTE Month^® — and NASA HUNCH are excited to announce the 2023–24 student video challenge, which offers students the opportunity to showcase the application of CTE and project-based learning programs in high-demand career fields on Earth as well as in space. This year’s theme: “Why Go to the Moon?” The contest is open to students of all ages, including elementary, middle school, high school and postsecondary students in any school or who is homeschooled. Submit a two-minute video by April 1.
