Work-Source DeKalb operates under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to strengthen and improve our public workforce system and help get DeKalb County citizens, including youth and those with significant barriers to employment, into high-quality jobs and careers and help employers hire and retain skilled workers.

Work-Source DeKalb Services

Adult/Dislocated Workers/Youth Services The WorkSource DeKalb Department serves Adults/Dislocated Workers (serving ages 18 and up) and Youth (serving ages 16-24). We provide career planning, employment assistance, job readiness, earn-and-learn opportunities, and federal funding for tuition and training for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act eligible DeKalb County residents and those laid off by an employer located in DeKalb County.  One of our goals for the new program year is to enroll 150 Adult participants, 150 Dislocated Worker participants, and 100 Youth participants for a total of 400 participants in WIOA Programs for Program Year 2022. WIOA Programs provide training services that includes On-The-Job-Training, Work Experience, Job Readiness, Employment Assistance, and Supportive Services such as transportation, books, uniforms, and equipment needed for approved training.

How Can the WIOA Youth Program Help You?  Assessment of your current skills and interests Help in determining your career pathway Support and assistance in getting a high school diploma or G.E.D. Receive up to $250 for completing your high school diploma or GED and other Monetary Incentives Occupational skills training for a high-growth, in-demand position Paid work experience opportunities up to 14 weeks at $13.00 an hour Job readiness and job shadowing Career guidance and job placement

Business Services The WorkSource DeKalb Business Services Team along with our Enrollment and Retention Team are Onward to Outreach!! Our goal is to recruit and serve 300 adults and 100 youth in the WIOA program and we need your help to achieve this goal! We would love to be granted the opportunity to share all the benefits we offer to employers in the DeKalb County area. If you’re a community or faith-based organization, we need you too!! The WSD Outreach Team is already scheduled to participate in events throughout the county including the upcoming Career Resource and Business Expo scheduled for October 20, 2022, at New Birth Church.
